Can it be too cold for boats to run between MK & WL?

Can it be too cold for boats to run between MK & WL? Are there any other transportation options between these 2 locations? Is there a direct bus?

This isn't something that anyone needs to worry about. Speaking as a long time resident of Minnesota (where the lakes freeze over in the wintertime), it takes several days of very cold weather for lakes to freeze over. (Today, as I type it has been below zero for seeral days and there are still several lakes here in the Twin Cities that have not completely frozen over). In Florida, it's much, much more likely that low water levels will interfer with boat traffic, than unseasonable weather.

FWIW, when the recent drought did interfer with boat traffic, Disney provided alternate transportation (bus) to the MK.

Friends of mine were staying at fort wilderness one january when the temperatures dipped into the high 30's. The boats still ran. The boat operator did try to talk them out of the trip but being from Massachusetts they didn't mind ( the Floridian operator probably did). It is still the quickest mode of transportation. Also, there is an inside on the boat and while not balmy warm it will not be unbearable for the short trip. We had a cold night one november and were fine on the boat.

Boats will run in all temperatures. The Cruiser boats do have an inside part to them, so even during frigid temperatures, the boat ride can be bearable. The only kind of weather that does affect the boat would be Fog.

As an alternative... you can always take the bus to the TTC, and catch the Monorail from there, if you don't want to take the boat.

Thanks for that info .....does the TTC have a regular bus that travels to WL? How late does that bus run? If MK closes at 7:30, but we don't get out of there until 9:00 (we have a late dinner PS in the MK) - can we still take the monorail to TTC & then a bus to WL? I assume the boat won't be going to the WL from the MK at 9:00 since the MK closes at 7:30....

The bus runs to and from WL/FW and the TTC from 7:00am until 2:00am.

Thanks for posting the bus hours Chip 'n Dale Express. I didn't realize the buses started running so early.

I was wondering if you knew what time the internal buses run within the FW campground area? And...(one more I promise), do you know what time the monorail starts from the TTC to MK?
