We will be checking in early at the RPR and head over to IOA to see all things Harry and some of the other park attractions.

My question is if we only have one day can we see both parks? Can it be done? How close are the two parks? Is there park to park transport for onsite guests?

It can be done, I usually do it all in a day...however, since your going for Harry Potter I would say it will be tough. The parks will be packed with the grand opening of HP. I say no, with those conditions, unless you plan on skipping out on a lot of things.

You don't say when you are going ... but yes it can be done - just make sure you are there at park opening and head to IOA/Harry Potter first as that's no doubt going to be the busiest place in the park. There's no need to worry about transportation from IOA to the Studios side as it's within walking distance through CityWalk.

Can it be done as in hitting every major ride in both parks? No problem, especially since your early entry to WWOHP beats the biggest line and your room key takes care of the rest. Remember that hotel guests get in before regular visitors so when you say you're checking in early make it early enough to take advantage of that perk. If your room isn't ready they will hold your bags, issue you room keys and send you off on your way. Have a great day.
