BLAH! Here I am with more questions... I emailed Guest Services, but haven't heard anything back, I'm wondering if it even went through and was received.

Anyway, You guys have a wealth of knowledge, so I thought I would ask:

1) How much is the laundry room at DLH? Can I pay with a gift card, or credit card?

2) Can I get a massage at Mandara and pay with a Disney gift card?

And these last questions are about tours:

1) Are there any that are not very "stroller friendly?" I'll have a double stroller that I'm renting.

2) Online the price states an adult price, is that just a price per person, or is there a child's price... or are children free? That's confusing.

3) Can you pay for tours with Disney Gift cards?

4) Would YOU even bother if you were me? Here's some backstory: I grew up in Chino Hills, CA (very close to DL) and lived there until I was 15. I went countless times, which helps with touring the place now. I moved to Hawaii in 2000 (where I was born) and I have been back to the parks eight times since. The most recent was in 2012. I now have a tribe of minions, so the last two trips were centered around them and nap breaks... this next trip will definitely have the mid-day breaks, and we aren't park hopping. We have 5 day tickets, doing our arrival night at DL, then alternating days with 2 days at DCA and 2.5 at DL. I was considering the Discovering the Magic Tour on our last DL day, because it's something I've never done.. a tour that is. This one is kid friendly (even though I would really want to do a Walk in Walt's Footsteps) and it's just something extra. But, our last DL day is a Saturday... and will be the day we are going to try and squeeze in as much as possible. Would a tour kind of hinder us from seeing or riding a bunch of things? I'm basically really only considering it because we won't be back to DL for quite some time. Our next Disney goals are a land (WDW) and sea cruise after Pandora and SW land open over there. This trip was my Mom's parting gift (she passed from cancer last month) and wanted to be sure that we pretty much do all and see all and explore and experience all that we want. I'm just wrestling with a few hours with the tour versus a few extra hours on our own on our last day.... thoughts?

Laundry room at DLH - We stayed there 3 years ago and I don't remember how much it cost to wash & dry.

Massage at Mandara - I'm pretty sure that you can pay with a Disney gift card. It's part of the GCH resort and they accept Disney gift cards everywhere there.

Tour pricing - I'm not aware of there being an adult price & a less expensive child price. I think it's 1 price for all, so each person who will be going on the tour has to pay the same rate as adults.

Pay for tours with Disney gift cards - I believe so. But the website might only let you use 1 gift card in the transaction. If you have multiple gift cards, I've read here on the boards that you can combine the amounts from multiple cards onto 1 card, but I don't know how to do that.

Go on the tour or not? - At first, I was going to say no. Save your money and spend it on other things. BUT I've read reviews of the Discover The Magic tour and it looks like a lot of fun for kids. And since this a special trip in honor of your Mom, even though you'd be doing the tour on Saturday, your last day there, and even though the tours are only in the mornings (which is when crowds are lower), I think that you should do the tour.

I'm so sorry that your mom passed away. My mom died a few years ago from pancreatic cancer when my kids were 4 and 2 years old, so I totally understand what you must be going through right now. I think that a trip to Disneyland is a wonderful way to create some special new memories.

I'm pretty sure Mandara does not accept Disney gift cards, but services can be charged to onsite rooms (which can be paid for with gift cards).

We were at DLH back in September and we had to pay for the laundry with a credit card ( not impressed since we had saved our tokens from our 2013 trip lol ). I can't remember how much it was sorry. Also I'm pretty sure the vending machines were all credit card as well which was frustrating since we had an Australian Credit Card and the fees are massive each time. Sorry that I can't help with the rest of your questions :)

Yuck, yes the DLH does have credit card vending machines! Which worked intermittently when I caught the Disney-flu and had to stay in my cozy DLH bed sucking down $3.50 bottles of Sprite... I didn't use the laundry room, but how funny that the machines are credit card operated there, too!

The Discovering the Magic tour- is that the one with the treasure chests? Oh, it totally is, just Googled it! That tour looks super fun for kids!! (And adults! ) I think that would be a perfect event to dedicate to the memory of your mom! Originally my thoughts were to do the tour at the start of the trip or skip it, but then I thought that it would actually be a sweet last day event that would go beyond the shows and rides you've been doing the whole trip. Maybe you could start with a nice breakfast somewhere before the tour, like Goofy's Kitchen, the Carnation Cafe, or River Belle Terrace.

Have fun!

So I'm guessing that if you're asking about the DLH laundry room that you're staying at the DLH. The easiest way to pay for things using your Disney gift cards, then, will just be to charge everything to your room and then pay that room bill with the Disney gift cards.

As for the tour, have you considered hiring a VIP guide for your last day? It's pricy, but that is without a doubt the best way to maximize your time in the parks.

The laundry has the AP like WDW, where you can watch your laundry on your computer (or cel phone) and know when it is done, and you can see if any machines are available before walking over there. I always have to do laundry at Disney (WDW and DL), but at DL I usually have in room machines (VGC).

oh the Discover the Magic tour looks like to much fun! I may have to consider it for our next trip

i am thinking about it too!! This summer will be our 3rd trip I think my kids would have fun with it maybe do it our first park morning!

Don't recall the price but it's a credit card

2) Can I get a massage at Mandara and pay with a Disney gift card?

No. You can charge it to your room and pay it off with a Disney gift card. I was there a month or so ago and asked the same question.

And these last questions are about tours:

1) Are there any that are not very "stroller friendly?" I'll have a double stroller that I'm renting.

Depends on the tour, but most are stroller friendly.

2) Online the price states an adult price, is that just a price per person, or is there a child's price... or are children free? That's confusing.

It's the same price for everyone, although it might be different for kids that don't require a ticket to get into a park. They have discounts with AAA and Disney Visa, which is the same that an AP provides (10%, I think)

3) Can you pay for tours with Disney Gift cards?

I've only booked over the phone and don't recall them allowing gift cards. If you walked in and booked a tour for a different day, you might be able to pay with a gift card. But pre-payment is required and I seem to recall a limit for how many gift cards you can use over the phone.

This would only be our 2nd. the last time we went was over 2 yrs ago!
Part of me wouldn't want to give up those 2.5 hours, but it's something my kids would love and I know they wouldn't enjoy it as much in a couple years

Just an FYI to anyone wondering, I just spoke with Mar at the Disneyland Hotel, and she said it's $7 for Wash and Dry and soap and a dryer sheet are included.
