Hi

Where I am from in New England, and following the laws issued from the Fashion Police: "wearing white pants; white skirts; white shorts or white capris anytime after Labor Day is a major fashion... crime!" :rotfl2:

I was going to pack our family of five for our week WDW trip (We are leaving on Sunday.) My question is can Mommy wear white pants/shorts/capris or will we be simply be kicked out of the parks by the fashion police? :rolleyes1

Just curious on what your thoughts are? Most of my summer clothes are white...
Thanks!

Fashion statement or not....how long do you think your white pants will actually stay white in a theme park all day long? :confused3

I wouldn't wear them. Of course, I never wear white because I'm too messy!

I don't wear white to the parks at any time of the year. Just my thing. I just think they'll get too dirty, sitting on the attractions, and benches all day.

I don't wear white after Labor Day usually, though I did wear my white Jean skirt on our DCL in November. I say wear what you want.

I am also from New England, where you can't wear silver or White Gold after Labor Day - sometimes I sneak it down to Disney with me and wear it in January, as the sun makes me think of summertime. You should enjoy yourself on vacation though, wear what you are most comfortable in....:laundy:

Hi, I am from NY and would never wear white this time of year where I live. However, in Disney, I definately would. If they are comfortable, go ahead and wear them, and if they get dirty, put them in the wash with a little bleach. Have a great time. :santa:

I live just 90 miles from the World, and I don't even own any white pants, shorts, capris, skirts, etc. I would also never wear them to the World for the same reason I don't own any. I couldn't keep them clean. That said..... If you're comfortable in them, go ahead and wear them. You won't be brought in by the fashion police. Besides, Stacy and Clinton say it is okay to wear white after Labor Day. It is on a sign right at the beginning of their show; and if they say it's okay, who am I to argue? :lmao:

Thanks to all for your quick responses. Oh my gosh, I forgot all about the getting dirty from the rides, etc. :laundy: Thanks!

If I have time tomorrow then I'll try and go shopping for some tan or darker colored shorts. Hopefully, some stores will have some shorts in colors so that I don't ruin my nice summer clothes? I guess that I am just so excited about the trip and I have a really nice skirt and some shorts that I want to wear that make me feel so thin! (I recently lost all of my "I had 3 children" weight and thanks to a fabulous trainer/nutritionist. I just can't wait to wear a few new things that I bought on sale at the end of the summer!:woohoo: ) I think that I'll wear the skirt when DH and I go out to dinner without the children and Nana and Papa babysit!

Wear what you like and what you're comfortable in. We just got back and I saw tons of white pants/shorts/etc. Even *gasp* white SHOES! It was 80 -85 degrees out almost the whole time. I'm pretty certain the fashion police were sipping pina coladas poolside and not patrolling the parks :)

Ok - I've never heard of this rule! Does this also apply to stainless steel (my watch) or platinum (my wedding/engagement rings)? If so, I've been doing a fashion faux pas pretty much every winter day since I've been married!

But, yeah, I wasn't planning on wearing white due to getting it dirty - and I'm debating on khaki, other than my cargo shorts.

White is good all year round in Florida! I wear white constantly to the parks.

I don't even think the fashion police visit Disney. They could spend all day writing tickets for fanny packs and socks with sandls:rotfl:

My theory is that you are never going to see any of those people again so wear whatever you want and are comfortable in and who really cares what anyone else thinks.

HA! How true is that? I was thinking the exact same thing as soon as I saw that post! One time I saw a man and a woman in line in Disney, and the man had a HUGE hole in the seat of his jeans, and wasn't wearing any underwear! And she had her hand in the hole! EWWW...and I did not see any citations issued!:thumbsup2

I say go for it...if it's what you've got, wear it! If you can keep it clean in the summer, then you can keep it clean in the World. If you've gone to a county fair or a park and come home clean, then I'm sure you won't have a problem!

Wear what you want. You'll see everyone wears what they want to. You'll get many eyefuls. Apparently some see it as a chance to wear as little as possible, others think platform shoes make for great amusement park ride wear and some think socks with sandals is the way to go. Believe me, no one will notice your faux pas.:rotfl:

From what I have witnessed through the years at WDW, you definately do not need to worry if you are in fashion or not. :thumbsup2

OT but where in the world did this no white after labor day come from? And whats with the no silver or white gold? Until recently I didn't even own anything in yellow gold, it was all siver or white gold for me.

This is not something we follow here in Boise, at least my family and friends don't :rotfl: .
