It looks like on the map that Prime outlets is right across the street from Festival Bay Mall. Since we have no car, is it possible to walk across the street? I heard there is a Universal Outlet store in Festival bay. I thought it might be worth a look. We will be going to Prime Outlets already, if its possible to walk on over we might have to check it out.:surfweb::3dglasses

Yes, they are indeed right across the street from each other, and there are pedestrian signals.

Yes, it's very close. But be careful crossing. Orlando drivers are crazy and the tourists don't know what they're doing!

Has Festival Bay gotten any better, last couple of times I've been there it seems like half the stores are vacant. It seems like it's the unknown or unwanted Orlando mall in the tourist area. Both the Orlando Premium Outlets and the Prime outlets are very popular such as the traditional malls like the Florida Mall and Mall of Millenia which is more upscale, but Festival bay is somewhere in the middle where you can't even tell what kind of mall it is,is this why it can't seem to draw people.

Don't know, I haven't been there myself for a few years.

Last time I was there, most of the interior mall was empty, but they had a large shop for hunting and fishing gear, a pretty big Western wear store, and a seafood restaurant that specialized in rock shrimp (all of the names of which escape me at the moment.) There was also an indoor skateboard park that was pretty neat to just watch for a while, and there were plans to put in a surfing facility.

Yes, it remains mostly vacant. It's a really nice facility but it opened right after the 9-11 incident and never picked up momentum when the economy recovered, only to have the economy go down again. The few big-box stores in there seem to be doing ok but the loss of Steve & Berry's was another blow.

I've always thought that they should consolidate everyone still there all onto one side and block off the remainder of the mall until it can be rented. At least the full side would look like the place is doing ok.
