Just made a large purchase at Sears and intended to put it on my Visa for travel points but the salesman talked me into putting it on a sears card (saved about $85 with bonus points, 5% back, etc.)
Can I now use my Visa card instore to pay the Sears balance off?

No. You cannot pay off one CC with another. You can use a balance transfer to move the debt from the Sears CC to your Visa but you will not earn rewards points for doing it. In fact, you will pay a balance fee instead.

Wouldn't it be great if you could, though? You could put a large purchase on one CC and then just keep paying one card off with another without ever actually paying for the item and all the while you would be collecting rewards points!!!!!

Except you don't get anything (rewards points/dream dollars) for using the Chase Disney Debit card. It is just a "cute" card for your checking account.

You are right - no points but no debt either... And you get more than a cute card:

There are way better cards to earn points and rewards off of than the disney visa - the real value to me is the perks above... you could use a disney debit to get the basic perks & use another travel points card to accumulate points to cover flight costs etc... Unless u r using the 0% financing to take the trip which (IMHO) probably means you shouldn't go ... Save for 6 mos & go - don't go & then owe...that's no fun at all!

Hey I'm a cheap Dutch girl I learned from the best . I'm also one who drove my DH nuts by buying Disney GC to pay off our Disney trip but he sure didn't complain when he got to use my 1.00 off/gal of gas.
