I will be purchasing an AP this year as I have 3 trips planned. I would like to sit at Rose and Crown and have a few beers with my DH (no kid trip!!). Do I need to order food too?

makes it more of a challenge to make up the $70 fee, but if you work hard at it ......

Yes, and you can also use the card at most bars/lounges if you want to get a drink there, too. :) I love TiW!

Oh, good grief! I NEVER even thought about that. We did a "drink around the world" trip in April and never once pulled out the TiW card when we weren't ordering food. It just didn't cross my mind. Now I feel like such a big dummy!!! Thanks for the heads up, everyone. I certainly won't make that mistake again!

P.S. - It's so funny how things change over a lifetime. Our first 14 years of trips, we never had a single drop of alcohol on trips... we never drank with the kids around until the youngest hit 18. At that point, we would order wine or beer occasionally with a meal. Once the youngest could join us for F&W events, the trips took on a different hue. I suppose when grandchildren come along, we'll be back to tea-totalling again!

Yes, indeed. This is where my 1-2 punch of DxDP and TIW worked out very well. I could go to, say, California Grill and valet park using my TIW card. I could order my meal using DxDP and add wine and an extra appetizer (cheese course in this case). The wine & cheese were rung on a separate receipt with the TIW discount applied. That receipt could then be used to validate my free valet parking.

Sadly there are a few places that do not accept the TiW card -- yes we've tried. No at the margarita stand(s), no at the pool bars, no at High-Octane (Studios). Normally they only accept it at inside "lounges" -- i.e. Tune Inn lounge is a good choice at the Studios. So take the challenge and let us know how it works out for you. I wish they would take it at the F&W festival kiosk(s), now that would be a challenge.

Thank you all! Maybe I will put it in a lanyard around my neck and see where it flies.

I will be eating as well - but without the kids - there will be alot of drinking too.

I am really looking forward to lots of TS meals - with 3 kids under 6, we can never sit anywhere except Biergarten.

Is the average cost of drinks standardized across Disney? And if so, what is the average? I am guessing around $10 plus tip. If so, then using the TIW could really be a bonus.
