Hi back in 2006 in order to get free dining..(before we were dvc members):)
We had to purchase a one day base ticket for each member of our party ..these were added to our room key and we never used them.

We are hoping to buy annual passes .(not premium)..When we go this august. Can we take along our one day base tix and upgrade to AP's and still get the DVC discount?

Does anyone have any idea how much it would cost for me to buy three adult and one child AP's with the dvc discount and the base tix offset??

Iam going round in circles trying to figure it out and I know theres a good few experts here:thumbsup2

Thanks in advance:)

Oh....and do we all have to be present at guest services when buying AP's..or can I just do it and take alond DH's id??

Thanks again..

According to a CM who is a ticket expert and posts on this board regularly (and has a HUGE ticket FAQ in the Theme Parks section), ANY ticket may only be upgraded within 14 days of purchase (or first use, I forget).

If it's after first use, you're probably OK since they are one day ticketss which have never been used. If it's from date of purchase, you won't be able to upgrade your ticket.

Buy your APs with the DVC discount and just hold on to the MYW tickets. They're good forever.

YMMV.

Thanks...Do you know how much the one day tix are worth?..I think its $75?
But will they only give me the 2006 price as thats when I bought them?
Anyone know the price for one day base if this is the case in 2006?

So does anyone know what my total discount would be if I used these one day tix and my DVC discount?

Yes, you can do this. A 1 day ticket doesn't expire after 14 days (it is 14 days after first use, not 14 days after purchase) since once it is used, it is expired. Last year, I did exactly what you want to do. I had an unused 1 day ticket and upgraded to an AP with the DVC discount at the Epcot ticket window last fall.

Be careful though, I had to turn around and do it all again since the CM put the purchase date of the original 1 day ticket as the expiration on my AP. Obviously, I couldn't get in the gate with since my just-purchased AP had already expired!

My receipt doesn't show the exact amount I was credited for my 1 day ticket, but my math tells me the amount was $75.62 and it was a 1 day/1 park from September 2006.

Thank you so much...:thumbsup2 ..This is exactly what i wanted to know!

My base tix are from Aug 2006..so its good to know they should still credit me with $75 for eack tix..:)

I just posted on the other thread also...with my jumbled math!:bitelip:

WE did this last year at Epcot guest services, it was not a problem. The Free DDP one day ticket was a year old, but never activated. You should not have a problem.
