Can I use MDE to book FP+ when staying offsite?

I've seen so many threads and rumours and different answers and I'm really confused as to what the current answer to this is! :)

If I'm staying offsite, I think I'm right in saying that I can link my park tickets to MDE? Can I then use the website/app to book FP+ selections in advance? Or can I use this on the day if not? Would be great to not have to line up at the FP+ kiosks!

At the moment the only way for offsite guests to book FP+ is to visit the kisoks.

No one knows when or if offsite guests will be able to book online or using the app.

My boss just got back from a spring break trip staying off-site. About a week to ten days before the trip, he received an email asking if he wanted to participate in a FP+ test for off-site visitors. He thinks it was because they had various dining reservations, so he was already in their system. He was able to pre-schedule his fast passes, but it was only about a week before.

Thanks, both of you. I didn't ecpect to be able to book in advance but what a shame you can't book on the day via the app, it's just one more queue to negotiate.

There's a good while still before you go. It won't hurt you to have your MDE all set up in any case. Chances are that they are at least going to let you do it via the app eventually even if only on the day of. Having your MDE set up will at least mean if the change comes in before you go, you're good to roll with it :)

Good idea, Tiggies! I've got it set up on my PC but will download the app now too...

WOOHOO!!!!! :cool1: That will save SO much time and hassle in the parks...

Fingers crossed this is true 56 days to go account set up and tickets linked. Frantic checking daily for padlock to disappear check!

How do they know when you are 30 days out? I have ADR in but for the middle of holiday so I added in itinerary to watch fireworks the day we arrive, hope it works

great to have found this out :cool1:.

Mods-

I think this question will be asked again and again- Is there any chance that this could be made a sticky (even just a temp one) so that the info is easy to find and also apparent to those who have already looked into this but now think they can't pre book off-site.

Reasonably, nobody is going to need to make FP's for dates they aren't there. The FP's are attached to your ticket. If you have a 14 day ticket and make 3 ressies for dates you aren't there, you'd be short three days when you wanted to make the real ones, so I would imagine the problem takes care of itself.

It will be interesting to see how many days' worth of FP+ you can make as an offsite visitor, since AP holders can only book 7 days at a time. AP holders can only book 30 days in advance too so it would be a bit unfair if offsite visitors with 14 day tickets could book more FP+ than an AP holder.

Doh that was a real dumbo question wasn't it, of course it's 30 days to the day you want. I think all this talk with the changes and confusion over fp+ has got me over thinking things. I need a Mickey Bar!
