Can I use Giftcards at Universal restaurants?

Wanted to buy some Universal Studios gift card from my local grocery store (fuel perks!) - but can I use them at Mythos oranywhere I eat within US/IOA? I don't have to turned them into universal dollars or anything?

Hey, it's you-know-who! Yes, unfortunately, you always need to turn them into Universal dollars. I have no idea why Universal can't use the bar strip on the back of the gift cards like EVERY OTHER gift card does, but they don't. You need to get all of your gift cards turned into Universal dollars. I'm not sure if the hotel restaurants accept the U dollars (I think they might not), so make sure they do before buying enough for those.

Thanks "luckysmom"! I remember you told me that WAY back when but surely I figured they leapt into the 21st century by now...Apparently not! I earned about 360 in free gas from Giant Eagle on the disney trip during double points weeks but I know you warned me away from using them at the US hotels so I wouldn't even tempt fate there but at a restaurant??? GEEZ....Would you bother to get any if you were me? So no matter WHERE I go - tshirt store, potter wand, whatever I have to run around with these little universal paper dollars in exchange for giftcard??

Yes, you need to go to Guest Services and get all your gift cards changed into the paper money. I would buy some, but don't overdue it. Just get enough for the food and souvies in the parks.

I used to buy gift cards all the time when the kids were younger,but they caught on real fast.They would buy something for a doller and use $5 uni money and the cashier would give them real money back.Smartbutts!!!
