We are going to WDW for 8 days, and my mom will be joinging us for the last 4 days. If we have TS credits saved up are we allowed to use them for her? Like if we all go to 50's Prime Time?

Thank you! & Happy planning! :flower3:

Look out -- there's going to be some bumps in the road on this thread as this is a subject people feel very strongly about.

Technically the rules indicate you are not allowed to let other people use your credits that are not on the DDP themselves. However, I think this is another case where it's probably going to be up to your server as to whether or not it will be allowed.

I don't think it is a matter of the opinions of the people who post here. It seems Disney has really cracked down on the DDP and has added enforcement measures that would make sharing credits, as restricted in the DDP rules, nearly impossible to do anymore.

Your pass states how many adults and children are on the plan and most restaurants seem to strictly follow 1 TS per participant, even if you have TS credits left over.

If your card states 3 adults and 2 children, 3 adult TS is basically all you're allowed to use anymore, even if you have 30 TS adult credits left.

For planning purposes, with the DDP rules and with the stricter enforcement that has been going on the last 6 months, you should just plan to pay OOP for anyone joining you later that is not on the DDP.

NO, she will not be allowed to use your credits. The card reads X adults, Y children and that is the total amount that you can use for your meal. You do not want to get the server in trouble as they are the ones who will pay the price.

Would sharing be allowed? Many times the meals are so large that I can not eat everything. If the proper number of meals are ordered on the plan can Mom share with the others?

Technically No, because she is not part of your DDP.

Order her a drink and an appetizer. Pay OOP for her bill. If she happens to want to "taste" something that your family ordered............

Actually, Disney has clarified this in its Dining Plan brochure:

DiningPlanCreditsForFriends.JPG

There is no doubt now. If your mother is a registered guest in your hotel room, she can use credits from that room no problem. If she is not a registered guest in your hotel room, she can neither stay overnight there (there is an additional fee that needs to be paid for additional adults in the room) nor use the Dining Plan credits (there is an additional fee for the Dining Plan for additional guests in the hotel room).
