Can I use a park hopper without a base ticket??

Planing a short trip to WDW for 4 adults and 1 child. I want to visit Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. I have a family member who is being offered 5 hoppers for $65 USD each.
Can I use a hopper to visit HS & Epcot one day and buy a base ticket for MK??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hi there! i actually work in vacation planning (ticketing ) at the magic kingdom right now so i'd be happy to help you out with this!

to clarify, you can't have a park hopper without a base ticket. a base ticket is a ticket to any of the four theme parks, with one park per day. so a ticket to epcot (for example) is a base ticket. park hopping is an add-on, something you add to the base ticket.

what tickets do you already have? what exactly are you wanting to do with them?

The simple answer to that question is yes.

Although there is a more economical way to buy 2 days worth of ticketing.

I would make sure your family member is getting tickets you can actually use. Would hate for you it get there with invalid tickets.
