We were planning on 4 days at Disney using single park tickets but will need to cut our trip short. Can I use the 2 single day park tickets the same day, 1 for each park?

My instinct was to say yes, but it depends on the wording of your question.

If you have a multi-day ticket with no park hopper, you cannot use a day of it to enter a 2nd park.

If you have physically different, unlinked single day tickets, you could.

Yes it a multi day ticket. I'm glad I asked as I was thinking we could.

I think you should check with guest services. It might work or they might be able to change your 4-single day tickets into 2-park hopper tickets. It definitely wouldn't hurt to ask!

A 3-day hopper is $295 compared to a 4-day nonhopper at $280, so I think you should be able to upgrade to the 3-day hopper for an extra $15 per ticket.

Since it is a multiday the answer is no. I also don't think they make a habit of letting you downgrade even if it costs the same so you can't go from a 4 day non-park hopper to a 3 day park hopper because you are going for less days.

Now if you had separate physical tickets that were only 1 day each then yeah you can use them to enter both parks in 1 day because they wouldn't know you who entered Disneyland this morning is now you entering DCA this afternoon. The problem would come in the fact that it would be a major waste of money as single days are something like 100 a piece when the cost to park hop is much less so it would be one of those only do it if your tickets expire and you aren't coming back. It is not often people are in the situation to have two physical unlinked 1 day tickets.

Are you sure about this? Because the 3 day hopper costs more I wouldn't think it's an issue.

Not 100% sure but I've always been under the impression that you can't down grade once you've bought the tickets. I know it is Disneyland but maybe @ravenclawtrekkie who is like the resident WDW ticket expert can share if they can take a 4 day single ticket and make it a 3 day park hopper.

I thought you could, but entering the 2nd park would count as a separate day. I could of sworn I was told that but it would have been several years ago.

I guess I don't consider it a true "downgrade" because the 3 day hopper is more expensive.

This is exactly how WDW's computer system sees it. More $$$ = Upgrade. Less $$$ = Downgrade.

If a 3 day hopper costs more than a 4 day base ticket, we can do it. I'd look up the numbers but I'm headed out to GKTW to put in some volunteer hours right at this moment.

Thanks! I'll have to remember this next time we might buy a day we end up not wanting to use but would use park hop instead.

I would be careful assuming that WDW's ticket system and DLR's ticket systems are similar...the ticketing website does say "Tickets are nonrefundable and may not be downgraded to a ticket with less entitlements." So it all depends on what they mean by "entitlements".

OP - I think your best bet is to contact Guest Support several times and see what answers you get. If they all say the same thing, then that's probably a good indication that something can or cannot be done. If you get a range of answers, that might mean there is no clear answer.

Oh the less entitlements does add something to the conversation. I don't think WDW's say that. Of course Disneyland tickets expire even if not used don't they and WDW ones don't if they aren't used so that's a big difference too.

Contacting guest services and explaining your situation is your best bet. They might just let you go to both parks in one day and use up your 4th day to do so. You never know until you ask.. and maybe do some convincing with a manager.

The question is about Disneyland though.

The question is about Disneyland though.

Ravenclawtrekkie knows that. I tagged them in order to see what at least one system does to see if it is even something Disney offers. The parks operate differently but if one park does it then it might be worth calling to see if the other does it too.

I actually didn't read that the question was about Disneyland, and the systems are totally different, so nobody should assume they're the same.

(Just now noticed this thread's even in the DL forum.)

Sorry that's my fault for the tag. I just knew you have a lot of ticketing information and thought maybe the system would give some insight but not guarentee they are the same.
