Can I upgrade an old ticket?

I am going to Orlando in December this year. I last went in December 2003, when I bought a 5-day park hopper for the week I was there. I only used one day (at Epcot) and so have 4 days remaining. I have forgotten what water park options were combined in the ticket at that time, and wondered if I will be able to upgrade the ticket to something more suitable (I'm there for 14 days this time) when I get to a guest services window next week. Ideally, I'd like to upgrade to a pass that gives me a few more days and some water park days - but don't want to buy one the length-of-stay passes in the UK as I have 4 days unused on the current ticket. Can anybody help me with this one? Would really appreciate any experience you can share. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that you can't. I have three left-over tickets and I asked this before my last trip and tons of people said no.

Pre-2005 tickets cannot be upgraded. Magic Your Way tickets cannot be upgraded if used more than 13 days ago. If (totally) unused, a ticket can be traded in towards a different kind of ticket (no change returned).

If a ticket you already have (used or not) does not cover the whole vacation it is almost always a better deal to save it for further off in the future and buy a new ticket to cover the whole vacation (a 14 day unlimited pass sold in Europe may do).

This is correct - pre-Magic Your Way tickets with remaining days may be used as they exist. They may not be upgraded to another ticket.

There are only two things that can be done with pre-MYW tickets at WDW.

If they have not been used at all their system derived value may be used to purchase any MYW ticket of equal or greater value; the Guest must pay any difference. If you have a booklet with A-E tickets, there is a specific value we can use for each level ticket.

If they are partially used they may be used in any turnstile until the entitlements are used up. If the ticket has been demagnetized we can issue a replacement with the same remaining entitlements but make no changes. If it as ticket which did not have a magnetic stripe we can replace it with a new ticket with the same remaining entitlements.
