Hello,
I had originally bought a 5 day PH No Experation pass. I used 2 days last week so now I am left with 3 days. Can I use those three days and upgrade the ticket to an Annual Pass? Thanks for your help.

As long as it is within 14 days of the first use, you can upgrade.

Disney will tell you how much the upgrade will cost based on your current ticket.

Within the first 14 days, you can upgrade your MYW pass to an AP. If you do this, you will get credit for the full purchase price of the MYW pass you are upgrading, and the AP will be backdated to the first day you used the MYW pass.

After the 14 day window, you cannot upgrade, but as long as the MYW pass has the no expiry option, you can trade in the ununsed portion for a monetary credit toward purchase of a new AP. The credit would be based on what you originally paid for the MYW, minus the parts that you used. In this case, the AP would start on the day you purchase it.

Either of these options can only be done at WDW Guest Relations or ticket windows in the theme parks or at Downtown Disney. It cannot be done by phone, internet, Disney Store, or at the resorts.

The MYW no expiration PH can be upgraded to an AP at any time, not just within the 14 day window.

I keep stressing that Disney's policy on ticket upgrades has changed radically since the advent of MYW tickets and it continues to do so all the time. The current prevailing choice in the Ticketing Carousel of Policy encourages Guest Relations CMs to do as little dollar crediting as possible. To that extent, upgrades from used MYW tickets with no expiration first used more than 14 days ago to AP's are now being credited at full price and back dated to the first day of use the MYW ticket had.

The GR CMs have great latitude when it comes to handling ticketing situations so the above is not etched in stone. But I believe that you will find the far greater number of GR CMs doing it the new way.

Oh, and to answer the next question "What happens if the first use of the MYW was more than one year ago?" is that it will greatly depend on the CM. Some will offer you a dollar credit for the unused days towards the AP, others will tell you you can't upgrade it and have to use the remaining admissions as is. Untiil the policy has a longer track record, it will be hard to say which is the more generally accepted way.

Hi. So does that apply to MYW tickets bought through Ticketmania or only MYW tickets bought full price at Disney or Disney online? Thanks!

Yes you can upgrade tickets bought through Ticketmania as well. The catch is they will credit the ticket at the cost Ticketmania paid.

This was the case in the old PH/PHP ticketing era but is not true with MYW tickets. Guest Relations will use a two step process to do the upgrade. Step one is a phantom transaction done in the computer and you are NOT charged for it. Once the ticket has been raised to gate price, step two is handled like any other ticket being upgraded.

Lobby Concierge has the ability to do this transaction as well although many reports of them omitting the first step have come forth. Guest Relations seems to be the more consistant option for having this transaction done correctly.
