Ok is it wrong to start trimming up now?

I am desperate I just got some lovely new decorations! and I have two trees plus outside to do.

Its our first Chrstmas together in our own house, and I want everything to be perfect, but is it bad luck to start now?

I mean I have already done the Christmas cards etc and made crackers, and just got the Christmas cake in the oven.

Plus I am listening to Christmas songs too

If you want to -go for it Anna :thumbsup2
I personally would put some little bits out now and then the bulk of it in the first week of December!

If you want to do it Anna then go for it :thumbsup2

Go for it! :thumbsup2

Your not the only one. I am sure that Mandy has already done hers.. :teeth:

Go for it girl there are quite a few in the west mids with theirs up already :thumbsup2

You go for it Anna, there are quite a few trees up in Nuneaton and I can't wait to do mine next weekend

Don't forget to take some photos for the 'Show us your tree' thread that I'll be starting soon :thumbsup2

There are some decorations up around here already too. I'm putting mine up in 2 weeks time, except for my wreath that I made yesterday which is already up (I figured it might as well stay out instead of putting in in the loft for 2 weeks and then getting it down again!)

I can't wait to put my christmas palm tree up!! :cool1:

I personally don't like to see Christmas decorations until Advent which is the third Sunday before Christmas - but many on here do have their things up early.
We put our thing up a week before Christmas usually.

and it comes with its own lights wrapped around it Mandy!! :teeth:
My tag now needs changing!! :rotfl:

were putting ours up weekend before my birthday which is the 14th

Finally, someone that still thinks of Christmas as something with religion in mind instead of an excuse to get drunk or spend ridiclous amounts of money. And don't get me started on the people that think there is "nothing wrong " with lighting up their whole house (er, global warming ??) because it's Christmas. Personally, I can't stand to see Christmas decorations, adverts, lights or music until at least 2 weeks before Christmas. Anything before then is just too early.

Christmas in the 21st Century has nothing to do with religion anymore; the church lost that battle against multi-national corporations years ago. Christmas used to be a time when we as a society would reflect on the past and look forward to the future. To consider those that are less fotunate than ourselves and celebrate the life (in a Christian country) of Jesus. Now I am NOT religious; I don't believe in religion / God - period. But I'd take a religious christmas over todays get drunk, spend more, do less mentality that is 'the norm'.

So no ... we won't be putting up decorations until the last possible moment and they'll come down (as usual) 12 days after.

Bah Humbug I say, HUMBUG!

I always trim up on the 12th of December and take down 12 days after, my mother has trimmed up already, looks like Santas Grotto in her little flat, but she loves it. :goodvibes

well I can happily say I love lighting up my whole house, and my parents house,

I arnt religious, but I do believe Christmas is a family time,

Ours went up on the 10th , 11th and 12th of November. We are a week later than last year.
