Can I transfer pts from my next UY?

Hi-my use year is Oct and I'm not sure I will be using any of my upcoming points next year.
Can I transfer my upcoming points to another member now or must I wait until October?

Borrowed points cannot be transferred.

Your points from Oct 07 use year can be transferred now. Not necessary to wait until you have received them. I am in the same situation, same use year, and did a transfer last week.

Ok-so I'm a bit confused. I have zero points right now. Therefore, if I were to transfer the new block of points I'm due to receive in Oct would I be "borrowing " them first-then transferring?
If they are borrowed now-how can they be transferred?

You wouldn't be borrowing them. The transfer would be from your 2007 UY to the other person and would retain their UY of October, 2007. And you can do that now, without waiting, as Sorcerer's Dad indicated.

I think Diane thought that you wanted to borrow them first and then transfer them.

That's right. I was thinking you couldn't transfer them for a reservation that occurs before your use year begins.

Keep in mind you're only allowed one transfer per use year. It would count as your one and only 2007 use year transfer. You also could not have anyone else transfer any points IN which had a 2007 UY.

Also note that whoever received them could NOT use them for a 2006 UY reservation as transferred points may not be borrowed. They could however use them within a 2007 UY or bank them into their 2008 UY.

Here's the basic combinations:

1. Banked points may not be transferred.
2. However, transferred points may be banked.
3. Borrowed points may not be transferred.
4. Transferred points may not be borrowed.

Assuming I am before the 31 day window of course.

You could even within the 30 day window. The only limitations would be a home resort question. You could even buy holding account points 60 days prior to your trip and reallocate to an existing reservation and free up points to bank or borrow or for other reservations beyond 60 days out.

As Dean says, yes, as long as the original reservation wasn't made using home resort points prior to 7-months, and you want to reallocate using non-home resort points.

Actually Bill you can make a reservation at 11 months out then reallocate once you're inside the 7 month window assuming the nights in question are still available.

Our Sept reservation was made outside the home resort window and , so maybe we can pick up some holding points for cheap in July and reallocate the Sept reservation points for a Jan reservation.
