I am at the park and my dad would like to leave for lunch and I would like to stay. However I am the one with an annual pass so then they would not be able to get through parking without paying to come pick me up later to go to DTD. Is there any way for them to pick me up without paying for parking or is there a disney bus I could take? I am a bit clueless as i have never used disney busses. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no, there are no buses that go from the parks to DTD. You'd have to transfer at one of the resorts.

Would I be allowed to as an offsite guest? Is my park ticket enough? I don't want to break disney rules

You don't need a ticket or anything to ride disney transportation. Take a bus to AKL or Pop and transfer to a DTD bus. Or you could take a bus to a resort and have your folks pick you up at the resort.

You can easily use the bus without anyone knowing or caring whether you are an on-site guest or not. And really, since WDW sells hoppers to all guests, it makes sense that they would allow any guest to use all on-site transportation.

Your best bet would be to get on a bus that goes to AK Lodge (close to AK). Get off and then wait for their bus to DTD (I think this is the simplest AND you could go into AK Lodge and take a peak - lovely!). You could also take a bus from AK to Saratoga Springs and then its bus to DTD. Saratoga Springs is one of the resorts closest to DTD.

If all else fails, ask one of the bus drivers at AK and they will be happy to give you their advice of the fastest way to go. :thumbsup2

If you're doing something at WDW,visiting the parks, touring the resorts,etc...you're a WDW guest and are free to use any form of transportation. You could spend all day resort hopping without tickets to the parks and you're free to go anywhere you want on property,Disney knows you'll end up eating on property or seeing a hotel you might want to stay at in the future.

Last Fall they were testing a bus route from AK to DTD. Does anyone know what became of that?

You can take the bus from AK to SSR and walk to DTD from SSR.

First I think every park has a free drop off and pick up area. Also I think they stop manning the toll booths at a certain time.

Second why DTD? Thats pretty much the furthest away you can get. Why not take a bus to AKL and have him pick up up there.

They are going to downtown D anyway so I thought it would save them time if I met there. Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I'm going to try the busses.
