Can I switch from a AAA discount to a general public code if one comes out?

I've already used a AAA discount for our FW cabin stay in July, but would much rather use a general public code if one comes out for our dates. Do you guys think they'll let me change from one discount to the other?

If it is a room only reservation it won't be a problem. There does need to be rooms available under the new code though.

I booked room only at CSR over the summer. I called last week to get the discount with the code. They changed the rate without any problem. They gave me a new confirmation that shows my new rate.
