I would certainly call and ask!!! Unless there's some reason that makes you specifically ineligible for this promotion, you should be able to take advantage of it.
BTW, it's 15 DOLLARS off, not 15 CENTS. In other words, adding this promotion to your contract will save you over $2000 on 150 points.
That may or may not be true. If a potential owner's first contact with DVC comes during a tour of the resort while vacationing at WDW, it is not uncommon for the promotional discounts to be offered for a fixed amount of time. Usually the individual must purchase within 3 days of the tour (or 3 days after returning home from their vacation) in order to receive any discounts.
If that's the case here, DVC may be willing to extend the $15 discount since technically it's a different discount program. Or, they may not be willing to do so. Still, it seems worth a call to find out. May also be worth considering resale since it will cost much less than $101 per point.
Well DVC itself is selling for $86 right now(with the referral thing) and the resale market seems to be averaging around $85 for contracts with current year points available. Seems to me $101 per point is a RIP OFF when you look at the actual market value.
If you haven't signed I would tell them you are walking unless they re-do the contract with a referral bonus. There are plenty of members here who would be happy to refer you.
I will call tonight. Hate to think I will miss out on for not knowing would rather pay $85.00 vs $101. 00 ouch that hurts alot. I think we should be able to get it.
Definitely call and ask. I'd be surprised if they don't extend the discount to you. Be aware though that the discount is applied only on the yet-to-be-completed units at SSR and you won't get any points until December at the earliest. If that's already the situation, I'd think you'll get the additional $7 off what you already were offered (assuming you already have the $93 per point incentive being offered without the referral).
