Can I shop before breakfast in MK?

I've just booked an Adr for Crystal Palace at 8.05am. That day the park opens at 9am.
Will the shops on main street be open...or do they not open till 9am?
will I be done eating by 9am...I don't want to waste any park time?
I take it there are ropes at the castle or something to stop us getting into fantasy land before 9am but can we get into the shops in the castle before 9am?
I haven't got a clue how this all works?

Last time I had an early ADR for CP like that everything on main street was closed. You checked in at the main gates and let them know you have an ADR so they let you in and I think they had CM's along the route to keep you on track to the CP if I remember correctly.

Not sure if things have changed.

Shops are not open but it is truly the BEST time to get unobstructed photos of the train station, Main Street, and the castle.

Since you have an 8:05 time slot and CP is a buffet you can probably be done before 9:00 and be at the rope drop to Fantasyland if you want. It will depend a lot on the character rotation and if you "must" see all of them. I don't remember any shops being open but you can linger on Main Street taking pictures and the like, but then you may not be seated in time to be finished by 9:00.

My advice is to enjoy your walk down a relatively uncrowded Main Street, enjoy your breakfast and the characters and don't worry about being done by 9:00. Ten minutes after won't be the end of the world

Thanks all.... ...we are not too worried about seeing all the characters as we will having a CP lunch later in the week...I forgot its a buffet so I suppose we can be quite quick...as we don't have to wait for our server to serve
I want to relax and enjoy breakfast but the commando in me will want to get going as soon as the rope drops.

Kudos to you for thinking you would be able to shop before an 8:05 am breakfast. I am not able to get my family up and ready in time for extra magic hours or park opening!!! I am jealous!

LOL ..It will be our first morning in Orlando after flying from UK...so we will be wide awake and raring to at about 5am...our body clocks will be 5hrs ahead.

If you need an autograph book there is a small stand that is open that early near the gate. I was happy to see this on our last trip since the store at the poly wasn't open.
