Can I ship something for POP to leave in my room?

I plan to have mousekeeping leave a gift on the bed each day for my dd. I am going to leave it in a bag for them to set out on her bed once they've finished cleaning. Along w/ invites for the next days activities. I'm sure I have no problem w/ that as I've done it at other Disney resorts.

My question is, I would like to leave a welcome gift on her bed for when we arrive (since we plan on hitting the parks before we get to our room). Has anyone ever mailed a package for them to open and put out in your room?

Generally speaking the resorts won't deliver/decorate/place/etc. items for guests, the exception is club level.

There are simply too many guests and too much responsibility for them to do this. Additionally, with housekeeping you might very well run into a language barrier with a mousekeeper who has no idea of what you are asking, and frankly that is not their job to do, and they are so short-staffed these days that they barely ahve the time to do what they need to do.

You could ask, but I would not count on any of this being done.

Until you are standing at the desk checking in your room could be assigned to someone else. They will have your package at the desk, you can ask for it then.

I wouldn't ask the housekeepers to do for the same reasons Ducklite mentioned.

I don't think Disney would open any box that was shipped to them for another party. It might not be the same for private shippers but it's a federal offense to open another person's mail. And how does Disney know what is in the box? Too many weirdos out there sending dangerous things in boxes.

You could do "the stall game". Invent a problem with the room that will leave you alone to get the bag ready before your daughter ever enters the room. Get your room keys and tell her that you have to check it out first and she should wait. Then say there is a problem and one of you (I'm assuming you will have another adult with you) has to go back to the front desk. Insist that your daughter go with the other person. Then enter the room and do your thing.

It seems like housekeeping doesn't even have time to get the rooms cleaned properly lately much less spend time putting gifts out for guests. I'm sure they are very short staffed and they have a very hard job, but I noticed during our last visit, every day there was something left un-done. The garbage wasn't empty one day, the bed wasn't made on another, it took four days to get more shampoo/conditioner (I had to use what I brought, no big deal), the pile of dirty towels was left on the floor on the day that they changed them out, etc. While these things don't bother me because I know the job is very difficult, it would bother me if I thought it was because they were having to do all these extra things other guests wanted so then they didn't have time to do the normal things for all the other guests. But that's just my opinion.

Wow! I didn't realize mousekeeping was so short staffed. Last time I was at Disney (Christmas 2005) we never had an issue and they left my dd's gift bag on the bed for her each day. Considering it's just opening the closet, getting the bag marked for that day and placing it on the bed, I didn't think it was considered so much extra. Especially since we tipped them very nicely for their generosity each day. I think I'll just use the closet instead of the bed and do it myself.

FYI--the "closet" area at Pop does not have a door--it is simply an opening. So make sure her goodies are well hidden in anothe rbag.

No closet at POP. Not alot of hiding spots.
To hide them, I would put in a suitcase up on shelf above the clothes rack.
Maybe each day when you leave, slide it out and put on the table.

We also were there in 2005 and did not have the same issues with housekeeping. I might add that there are only two of us, DH and myself and we are neat freaks so the room is always picked up, the bed is smoothed over, nothing is left out, etc. and we leave four dollars a day for mousekeeping tip (I don't know if that is generous or not). So there is not a lot for them to do. I even clean the mirror and sink area before I leave in the morning. I would like to add - I did not mean to criticize your decision to ask them to do something for you in any way - I was just mentioning that they seem to have problems just getting the rooms cleaned. As I re-read my first post, it sounded very critical and I didn't mean it that way. If they are able to add pixie dust to your stay by doing the little extras, that would be great for your DD.

I. . . My question is, I would like to leave a welcome gift on her bed for when we arrive (since we plan on hitting the parks before we get to our room). Has anyone ever mailed a package for them to open and put out in your room? . . .

1) As mentioned, this cannot be done.
2) This can "sometimes" be done when staying Club Floor at a Deluxe.
3) Too many things can happen
. . . gift item could be lost
. . . item left in room, then the room is given to some else
4) Front Desk might be able to deliver it during the day while you at the parks
. . . the "Front Desk Runner" delivers items (eg. flowers, baskets) to rooms
. . . they have a quasi-schedule/cycle for delivery
. . . delivery might be morning or evening or next day
