Hello, one of our adult annual passes that I bought at the great DVC price this past year, we are not going to use? Am I able to sell to another DVC member? It's the Green exchange certificate card and does not expire until 12/31/13? I am really hoping so. If anyone has knowledge on this or who I could call to find out that would be great!!
Thanks!!!

I would PM Cheshire Figment here on the Disboards and see what he has to say. As a CM in ticketing he is very knowledgeable. Here is his thread about ticketing. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

DVC will not refund your money, but it's possible that Guest Services or the TTC might give you a refund for the ticket if you can't sell the voucher.

There have been posts where members have been able to get a refund on the DVC special ticket because it has an expiration date.

I just found out today that I may have to test that because an important conference for work just came up for the week I planned in November. Other weeks are pretty much booked up, except for SSR.

I too would defer to Cheshire Figment but I do remember reading a post around the time these were announced to the effect that if they do expire you can still apply that money to another pass in the future if you wanted to hold on to what you have.

Call disney ticketing. I had almost the same situation come up. I got a really nice ticketing CM on the phone and she said I could get a refund, or apply the price paid to a different ticket.

I was wondering also if the DVC certificate that I bought for myself to be activated in November could be used by my adult daughter who also has a DVC membership in her name. It looks like I will not be using it after all and she is accompanying me in September and may return within the year.

Yes, as long as she has her member card to activate it.

Doesn't the member who bought the voucher need to be present when it is exchanged for the actual PAP?
I bought one for my adult son (lives at my address). Also bought for adult DD and DSiL (DD is a member) Not sure now he is going to WDW before Dec 31st. and DD is talkng about waiting till Feb 2014 so she can run in the Princess. Would I have to be there if another member were to take these off my hands? I would love to get a refund. When I bought all the vouchers thought "buying ahead" was a good idea. Somehow "life" just seemed to interfere with my planning.

This can't be as simple as you all are making it. First of all, we are limited to the number of vouchers (or tickets) we can purchase. If we could do this, it would be an immediate way to circumvent that system. Secondarily (and admittedly, I don't have my AP right here in front of me right this moment), I have never seen hardly a ticket in my life which didn't say something to the effect, "Transfer not allowed."

Arguing whether it's a ticket or a voucher is playing semantics.

Until I see someone like Mike post an answer here, I would have to believe that you bought it and it's yours, unless you can find a sympathetic CM at a ticket booth that MIGHT overrule the rules and give you a refund.

I'd bet the vouchers are hard-coded to a name too. Did we ever get a definitive answer from Cheshire Figment?

I just sent Cheshire Figment a link to the thread. Let's see what he has to say, just for the record. Inquiring minds want to know. :)

1. Normally AP vouchers are freely transferable.

2. The special DVC PAP vouchers may only be redeemed by a current DVC Member for themselves and for members of their family residing at the same address. Any person 18 or older must have a photo ID and show the address is the same.

3. I have not seen anything official about this, but it is my opinion that if you go past December 31 and have not converted the voucher to a live PAP it will not lose its value but may be applied with its value of $399 (plus tax) toward the purchase of any ticket with at least that value.

So Cheshire, even though my daughter is also a DVC member and has her own membership (but lives at a different address), I will not be able to give her my PAP certificate in September. I will be with her --if that makes any difference.

I don't interpret Cheshire's comments to be saying that. Just saying that they can only be redeemed by a current DVC member or someone that otherwise qualifies (such as by being a family member living at the same address). Since it sounds like your daughter could otherwise purchase her own DVC AP then she would qualify to redeem the PAP voucher.

::yes::
when i bought DH's DVC AP voucher last year, he wasn't with me and i did not give his name (i wasn't sure if he, or DD who lives in same household, was going to use it).

I called DVC member services who told me I needed to call member accounting, which I did. Anyway they said as long as everyone has a plastic dvc member card and a photo Id with a name that matches your plastic dvc card you can use it. We have a similar situation and I am picking up all vouchers and dispersing to others to use at a later date.

Oh, I hope you are correct. I think I was taking his words too literally.

We had the same situation. I called to understand my options and they offered to refund the ticket price. Give them a call.

I'm having the same issue. I want to transfer to a friend who's also a dvc member. he just called MS and they told him that even tho that green plastic voucher card doesn't have my name on it, it's registed under my name in the system and he can not use it. Anyone else heard the same thing.
