Can I see your newsletters??

Here's what my first one looked like. I made it using one of the templates on Microsoft Publisher:

It's almost time for our guests to make ADR's so we're making one about that and arranging some group meals. Hope that helps!

We sent out an initial newsletter and pre-rsvp with our save the dates. We collected e-mails from the pre-rsvp's and sent out quick e-blasts of information after that via MailChimp.

I have a short 1 page one, and a long 17 page one :lmao:

If you'd like to see them feel free to PM me with your email and I'll send them through.

I loved making my newsletter! I sent them to everyone with green confetti stars and iridescent confetti and put the pixie dust picture (borrowed from a disbride :goodvibes)on the outside of the envelope. I got a lot of inspiration from this board! Good Luck!

curiouser - what kind of in questions did you use in your pre-rsvp questionnaire? I like the idea of doing a pre-rsvp to get a count on how many are going to come to the wedding. When I saw that you had a questionnaire, I loved that too. Just curious on what kinds of questions you asked. If anyone else did this as well feel free to post your response. Thanks so much!

I can't claim all of the credit, because Andreah let me see her pre-RSVP and I got a lot of ideas from her. This is what worked best for us; we also included a SASE for the guests to return their pre-rsvps.

Thanks for posting all of your files, especially your Pre-RSVP. Admittedly, I asked Andreah for a copy of hers as well because I really want to do this too!

My question about the Pre-RSVP's are:
  1. How far in advance of your actual invitation (or wedding) did you send it out?
  2. How long did you give people to respond?
  3. Did you get back valuable information from this effort?

Part of the reason I ask these questions is that I am really struggling with whether of not we will invite children to our wedding so I really need to know how many people with children will plan to attend (and bring their children). We have the potential of 30+ children if all our family and friends want to bring their kids. :scared1: I know we can have a separate kids party or ask the parents to use Kids Night Out, but I've already gotten the impression from several potential guests that they are not comfortable with this idea. If we go that route, they will probably not attend the wedding at all. And that's ok if that's what they want, but it affects so many people, our total guest count can really fluctuate. This makes it hard to plan for costs and make choices.

Sorry - I know this seems like a tangent, but I swear it's related to Pre-RSVP's and newsletters. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get past this dilemma? Has anyone provided information in their newsletter about potential child care options to give people some advanced notice and allow them to think about that before they Pre-RSVP or regular-rsvp?

(and thanks, aristocatz for bringing up this topic! I am in dire need to starting my newsletter and as you can see, I am kind of stuck!)

THANK YOU!
Leah

I asked Andreah for a copy of her news letter as well, if anyone has the Mac Version of her news letter and would care to share it as well I would greatly appreciate it (That is if she doesn't mind you sharing it :goodvibes: )

Here's ours. I designed it in QuarkXpress, so it's prolly not useful to anyone as a template, but maybe for ideas...

We sent out the packet the last week of October and gave folks a month to return it. Our invites were sent out at the end of March. The pre-rsvp helped us really get an idea of how many people were seriously considering coming. Having some solid "No, thank yous" right away eased some of the anxiety of who do we invite, given that we knew we wanted the Napa Room and it has a capacity of 50.

Most families with small kids actually responded no, so we didn't need to address the child care issue. We will have two under 4's present but they will have in-room care courtesy of KNO. That was their parents choice.

I am a little confused as to when to send things out. Does Disney send the STD's out as soon as you confirm your date? For us that would be around 12 months. When should I send a newsletter? I would like to do a newsletter because I think it would give guests a lot of great information and I am designing a website so I would like to include the link. I also think the Pre-RSVP is a really great idea, it would help us so much with planning. What do you think about sending the Newsletter and a Pre-RSVP around 10 months? Any suggestions on wording for a Pre-RSVP?

When you sign your LOA they will send you the master copy of the Send the date. You send them out, only if you want to. They also give you paperwork with information on tickets and hotels to send out as well.

I had so much fun making our newsletter and it was a huge hit with our guests!!! Since we started early, we were able to include all prices for resort, dining, tickets, etc. so our guests knew approximately how much money they would be spending.

This is really cute... what program did you use? How did you get the solid black Mickey head icons? Is that part of a font?
