So, where can I find detailed pictures of GCV???
Here is some
info and
photos to get you started.
I would like to buy, but as I haven´t been in DL since so many years ago.
I am not sure on what to expect about GCV, what about its views, location, etc.
The location is great. The Grand Californian is the only US Disney resort with an entrance right into a theme park. You can walk into Disney's California Adventure quicker than you could walk to your car.
The location of the new villa wing couldn't get much better. The land is situated between the original GC structure and the theme park.
Approximately 25% of the rooms will overlook the theme park itself...25% will overlook the Grand Cal pool and the rest could best be called woods views. It remains to be seen exactly what this last class will be. The rooms will be situated behind a wooded play area in DCA. So a lot depends on how thick the trees are in that area.
There are no assigned room categories at the resort so you can only request what you want and hope for the best.
When we travel the most important for us is location and view, that is why we bought at BLT............... so, I am wondering what about GVC......... or should I wait for a DVC in a better DL location?
Location will undoubtedly be great. View will only be determined at check-in.
Honestly I don't know that you could even conclude that there will be a better alternative at DL. In terms of location, both the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier can't hold a candle to GC. The entire resort complex is much smaller than WDW, but neither of those resorts have the private entrance and both are noticeably further from the parks on foot.
And in terms of views, many of the Disneyland resort rooms simply overlook the city of Anaheim. You're not going to get much of a theme park view at PP or DLH.
They could build a new hotel with DVC villas, but with land being at such a premium out there I wouldn't hold out hope of it being an elite location like the GC.
