Can I ride with two kids?

Would it be impossible to take the kids by myself? We are going to be going with DH while he is at a conference in Newport the first week of Dec. so I was thinking I could drive over for day trips but I don't think I can go on rides with both kids, right? I think last year when DD was only one they still made her have her own seat so no chance she could be on my lap right? I don't think I'd be comfortable with DS 4 alone on a ride.

How would LA traffic be from Newport to Annaheim? Thanks!

Depends on the ride. For Alice in Wonderland, my wife and I sat in the back seat while my daughter and son, ages 4 and 2, sat in the front seat. I'd imagine you could do something like that. For something like Gadget's Go-Coaster, it might be more problematic.

The traffic, it depends on the time, but I would not expect more than 30 minutes with traffic. I have never made that specific trip though.

Most rides you can all 3 ride together, especially the ones without height requirements. I think all the Fantasyland Rides, and Buzz (though 1 person wouldn't have a gun), will hold 3. I know Pirates, HM, and Nemo Subs will be no problem. You probably won't be able to ride Autopia, and I'm guessing your 2 year old isn't tall enough for roller coasters, but Big Thunder will hold 3 across.

I think you'll be okay with 2 kids. Disneyland is very family friendly so very few rides only fit 2 riders.

What do you mean they made your 1 year old have her own seat? Do you just mean she couldn't lap sit?

My husband and I are planning on the two of us and our 1.5 year old sitting all three together on many rides. So I imagine it would be quite easy with 2 small children and 1 adult.

I took my kid on Gadget's Go Coaster as a 2 YO. Was over the 35" minimum height with a guardian. However, that's two specific seats side by side and we were together. Not sure if it would be appropriate if the 4 YO would have to sit alone or with a stranger who won't necessarily look over the child.

All the Omnimover rides should be fine. Bench seating would be fine like PoC or It's a Small World. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is pretty good for younger kids, but a larger rider can be thrown into the side. I rode just with my kid and also with my wife and kid, and we sat on the ends and held on to the side to keep from getting thrown into our child. If you have two kids, you might want to sit in between to supervise both, but I'm not sure if you'd have anything to hold onto to prevent sliding into your kids.

I've ridden in an Autopia car with two of my grandkids when they were 5 and 7. The fit for all three of us wasn't too bad.

There are plenty of things you can do with the kids going by yourself.

The three of you are going to have a blast!

EDIT- On Autopia the CM's also let us do "Driver Switch". This was really nice! Both grandkids got to drive without having to wait through the entire line again.

Keep in mind that kids cannot ride alone if they are under seven, but the only ride I can think of off the top of my head without height restrictions that it would be a problem on is Toy Story Mania (but maybe they will still let your four year old in the back of the same car?) Everything else, you would be able to be either three across or be able to sit behind.

I remember specificly reading some posts about allowing 3 on one side for Toy Story. (the 3rd being a small child) Only two people could shoot though.

My dad and I took my son in May and he's 2 1/2 and sat on my lap for most rides. Alice was closed as was Nemo, Pirates and IASW so we didn't get to ride those and he's not tall enough for roller coasters. We stuck to the Fantasy Land rides and Bugs land rides in DCA. We also did Pooh, Ariel and Buzz with him either in between us or on my lap. No one ever said anything to me about it.

I don't think the 4 year old can ride in the back of the same car for TSMM. I was visiting with a friend, and we both have 6 year old sons. They would not let our six year olds ride on one side of the TSMM car and the moms on the other side, so I don't see how they'd let a 4 year old go by himself.

They'll let the 3 of you sit together on pretty much everything. Even Toy Story. We took our ds at 3 for the first time and ds, dh, and I rode in the same car for everything. If 2 adults and a kid can, there's no reason 2 kids and 1 adult can't!

Most rides this won't be a problem. I took my kids by myself since they were 3 & 5. We never had any issues.

I just wanted to say that just the other week we went on TSMM-DH, DS (a 3.5yr old the size of a 5 yr old) and myself. We all rode together on one side of the car with no issue (DS and I shared a gun-he pulled the rope and I aimed). So I don't see it being a problem for the OP to ride it alone with her two kids on the same seat in the same car. And there are a lot of rides that we comfortably fit 2 adults and 1 kid together on one "seat" so you should be comfortable with 1 adult and 2 kids.

And you never know. You may run into someone like us there (2 adults and 1 kid). On Goofy's Sky School, there was a single adult with 2 kids who weren't going to be able to ride and the kids were getting upset. I mentioned to the Mom that if she was comfortable, I could sit with one of her kids since that would let us be 3 adults with 3 kids. She was so grateful and it worked out for everyone.
