Can I resort hop while at WDW/w a car?

We have never visited or stayed at any of the moderate resorts at WDW. Also, given my daughter is a huge buzzlightyear fan, we would like to check out AS Movie.

If we drive to these resorts, can we park there and just walk around?

Also, we would like to check out OKW and WVL, can we just park there? Is there a time limit?

We will be at BWV for the first part of our trip and then to DD Hiton for the last 2 nights, do we need to go visit the resorts while at BWV?

We resort hop usually once a trip, just to check out the pools, restaurents, food courts, ambiance, etc....

Usually, we end up tranferring busses at Downtown Disney or Magic Kingdom .. DD/PI is a favorite since they have the latest running bus schedule...

Yes, you can resort hop to your hearts content. I know at CSR resort, I think you have to park in the front area but you can then walk in through the check-in area and walk around the resort. You can't drive your car into the back area (where the rooms are located or to drive to the pool). There is a gate requiring a room key to get into the back areas...at least it was this way a few years ago. Not a big deal.

WARNING!!!!!

Visiting Wilderness Lodge for many years resulted in a purchase of 150 points there!

And a recent visit to AKL will definitely result in some sort of Ressie (cash or points we haven't decided yet) from us in the future.

My hubby thinks WL's lobby is the most impressive one he has seen in WDW (we have never been to AKL yet).

I am trying to figure out where we want to stay in May (whether stay at BCV the whole time or explore some other resorts we have never been to). Right now, I am thinking about GF, AKL or CBR, depending on the rate difference and our visit this time.

You have GOT to stay at AKL! It's terrific!! The lobby is the same, yet totally different from, Wilderness Lodge. I loved it!! And if you had seen it at Christmas you would be hooked for sure! Now, I must admit that both the restaurants at AKL influenced my opinion, both Boma's and Jiko's. Oh, Lordy,after eating there I haven't found a good meal since I returned home. I guess that means I have to go back!

Re: resort hopping-you can visist any resort at anytime, however you may only have pool hopping privelages while stayina at a DVC resort (excluding AKL and whatever other restrictions there are at the time).

Enjoy resort hopping-we find it to be a great way to enjoy the magic while not spending the day in a park!!!
