Had three who were joining us - had a table for 7 for some of these restaurants - now will be party of 4. And all of these it's a "table for 7" - not two tables split up that I could remove one of the tables.

We have: Norway for breakfast.... Ohana's..... and a Fantasmic dinner package - all MUST dos for my family and now worry we will totally lose those ressies since nothing available for parties of 4 now. And the NOrway and Fantasmic - i don't want to show up and be charged for the 3 that aren't with us now.

Will they be able to reduce us somehow? or am I totally out of luck?

last two trips we scrambled last minute for ressies - finally this trip we planned enough in advance and got EVERYTHING we wanted when we wanted it - then other family says yeah, we want to come - okay, switched ressies to add them - and now guess what - it's just my 4 going and do NOT want to lose the ressies.
As it is, we lost our Fantasmic at Mama Melrose - kids favorite restaurant, to accommodate them for a party of 7 and now doing H&V - but now there is NO fantasmic packages available for 4 at any of the places. So now not only mad we lost our MM package for them - now what do we do with the 7 we have if only need 4 and are seated at one table? how do they reduce that?

can ya tell I'm aggravated!!!!?

You'll just be forced to eat all 7 meals. :rotfl:

No, seriously you should call now and change your reservations. That will free up spots for others.

If only four show up for that Fantasmic pkg, your credit card will be charged for the three missing persons. Been there, experienced that:mad: . Although in our case it was only one peron, who was sick and couldn't show up. My credit card had a charge on it when we returned, and when I called to ask about it, I was told we were one person short of what our ADR was for. The fact that the others showed up didn't matter. The others they may not be happy about, but they will probably let you in. I'd keep calling every day though, hoping some tables for four open up. People are always calling and changing their ADRs.

I had this happen on our first trip. My sister and her family were scheduled to go with us and couldn't make it. I figured I would just call and reduce the # no big deal but when I called they said they didn't have any smaller tables for those times and I couldn't keep the larger table. I didn't have any hard to get ressies so I just had to adjust my times some here and there. I would have been ticked if it had been one of the really hard to get ressies and I had to lose it. Our next trip we had family coming again (same sister that had to cancel the first trip and other sister with her one kid) and I refused to book anyone at my table at the hard to get places just in case.

I don't know when you're booked, but I have a table for 3 for Fantasmic on April 5 at H&V but wanted a table for 7. If the timing is right, maybe we could switch.

If there are any others you can't change, you may want to post them on the Cancel/Switch/looking ADR sticky at the top. You may find a family of 3 that you'd be willing to share a table with, especially for something like Fantasmic which is so difficult to get these days. Or you may find someone else looking to add to their party size, but couldn't get a table for 7 or 8.

This happened to a friend of mine. They visited WDW with her brother's family. They were each a family of 4, so 8 people total. Both families went to WDW, but after the first couple of days, brother's family decide they don't like the sit down meals, haven't been getting their money's worth, blah, blah, blah.

They decide they aren't going to show up for any more TS meals. DF was in a pickle because they were already at WDW and she didn't want to spend valuable time moving ressies around (if she could even get them). They decided to just get to their restaurants about 30 mins. early and scope it out for other families of 4 being turned away. They would approach one of them and ask if they minded sharing a table. She had takers each and every time.

It may not work for everyone, but at least they weren't "wasting" seating space and she didn't have to give up meals they wanted. A family that would have been turned away got a chance to eat there as well.

She said everything worked out wonderfully. Each family that set with them was very appreciative and a couple of families actually offered to pay for their meal to repay their kindness.

Like I said, it's just a suggestion...but it may work out for you to do something similar as well. I would definitely consider it before I gave up any ADR's that were dear to me.
