Can I put a sticker on the front of my PHPs?

I just bought 5 PHPs. I need an easy way to keep them from getting mixed up, so we'll always know whose ticket is whose. I was thinking of putting a small sticker-label on the front corner of each. Is it ok to do this? I'd hate to "deface" them and have these little $270 pieces of plastic become null void.

I wouldn't put anything on them, you have to run them through the scanner and the sticker may come off and gum up the whole system.

Just use a sharpie and write the name or initials in the corner. You can keep the picture in tact and have the passes separated.

In reality, as long as you keep the kids passes separate from the adult ones, it does not matter if you are using another adult's pass or vice versa. Your name is not attached to those passes so really if it gets mixed up somehow for admissions, as long as a kid uses a kid pass and an adult uses an adut one, it does not matter.

Oh, don't put a sticker on them. They probably won't run through the scanner afterwards. I like the marker idea. I wish I would have done that. I have a ton of used passes mixed up with my passes with plus options left.
Have fun!

You are asking for trouble. If you carry around multiple passes for each person in your pocket it is very easy to pull out the wrong pass and waste two days' of admission on the same day.

There has been an argument of "paper vs. plastic" admission passes. The paper ones will hold markings better. You should mark your passes if you can in small print to keep track of when they were used.

I have been known to take multiple passes with me to WDW, because it is the only place to have the remaining value checked. However, I put them in an envelope and only take them out at Guest Services; then when I return to our room I put all but the one being used that day into the safe.

I always carry a fine point Sharpie in my park kit. The way I do it is to mark out the value on the back and then cross days off as they are used. So a 6 day hopper plus is going to have P P P P P P + + + written on the back, waiting to be crossed off at the end of the day. Unfortunately, DH tends to forget to mark off days after he uses them, so every once in a while I still need to check the value and be sure that what is marked is accurate.

This is what I am worried about and why I am looking for a way to mark them.

just a note, Guest serivces will now only check 1 ticket per person for days left on it. I had three I wanted to check and she said she could only do 1 per person. This was very annoying as I had to go 3 times to check my tickets. I could see if I was doing 30, but 3? She said guests need to keep better track of their days which I thought was borderline rude.

Remember the days when the ticket was stamped each time you used it? The good ol' days!

I know with our AP, they provide a folder to keep each pass in (the tix actually have each name printed on them)...if they provide a folder then you can write on it...if not--I like the sharpie idea--just steer clear of the strip.

That was rude of the CM! Was your whole family there or did she send you to the back of the line each time?

I hate to beg to differ but I agree with the "rude" CM. You should keep track of pass usage yourself, or just keep using the pass until it is rejected and then go buy another one on the spot. Furthermore if you rely on Disney to tell you what is left on your pass, they might make a mistake in what they tell you and you end up throwing away the pass too soon.

I had a mag stripe hopper pass once (most of the time recently had annual passes instaead) and I just wrote the dates I used it with a ball point pen. Also I think it is OK to use stickers so long as they are a full quarter inch away from to the magnetic stripe so there is some flexibility space and the read head can still make good contact, and the stickers don't peel off too easily.

I have had date stamped passes too. One (ca. 1985) was stamped manually. The other (ca. 1994) was inserted into a machine similar to a time card punch clock at the turnstile and the machine chomped off a corner of the ticket as well as stamped the date. (The machine measured the chewed corner to line up the stamper with the next blank space.) If you were not careful you could waste two day's admission on the same day using the latter pass.
