Can I purchase the insurance within the 30 days?

I did purchase the insurance today for a trip that I will make in ten days. Is the insurance valid, or did I just throw away my money?

The woman knew my dates of travel. She asked me if I was within a penalty period, and I said I had no idea.

It's valid. We cruised on DCL in March. We purchased our cruise tickets just 5 days before sailing. We also purchased the insurance as there was snow here in PA and I didn't want to take a chance.
