Poor little guy! Hope his day went well. Hang in there, mom!

DD's started K this morning. DH and I brought them to their classrooms, saud good-bye, and that was that. We stood in the hall talking to a couple of other parents, Hannah could see us out there, but she didn't pay one bit of attention to us.

The babysitter called when they got off the bus, and they had a great day. Emily shared doughnut holes with the class to celebrate her birthday (which was Saturday). She said the teachers were really nice, and her favorite time of the day was riding the bus (we may have to do morning bus serivice, too). Hannah got to be the teacher's helper today and hand out milk. I think she must have been in heaven.

BTW - Mommy was o.k., too. I thought I would lose it, but I did great.

Oh...forgot to add... my twin sister and I cried on our first day of kindergarten. It will get better.

How did it go today?? Hope it was easier for him!! Does he have anyone to sit with on the bus?? My daughter was the only kindergarten kid on the bus and only kindergarten kids have to sit in the first 3 rows..so she had to sit there by herself with no one else around her the whole year! She hated the bus, ended up driving her to school every day and just having her take the bus home.

My daughter starts kindergarten on Thrusday...so we shall see how it goes for us. She is so exicted, and will have her big Brother on the bus with her....so hopefully, she will do ok.

How did he make out during the day? Pixie dust being sent your way from one Mommy to another!!!!!

Good morning everyone!! I am so sorry I forgot to update

He got off the bus and had a little bit of a smile but I think it was because he was glad to see us. One of the other parents at the bus stop said she saw him at lunchtime because she had to drop off medicine for her daughter, and he was fine, laughing with his friends, so THAT was a relief!

He cried a little bit on Wed, Thursday even less when I was there with him. Last night as he was going to bed, he said "Mommy, I am thinking that tomorrow I am going to get right on the bus in the morning" and he was even telling a few people over the weekend how he likes riding the bus and is sad he will not ride in the afternoon home (he starts Kids Club" afterschool care today)

You all were right, it DID get better. Thanks for all supporting me in the first, of many hurdles we will encounter this school year.

I am assuming that is the same as a PTA????....I am co-chairperson of hospitality and the co-chairperson of the membership committee on ours. Last year I just volunteered to work some of the events but this year I went on committees. My committee runs the fall festival, which is our big thing. But I am also volunteering for the Supermarket games, Welcome back breakfast for the first graders...I missed the one for her for kindergarten last year since the 1st PTA meeting was after the breakfast and I didn't know about it....I am helping out at the Family picnic in the spring, the bookfairs 2 times...I know there are some other things but can't think of them right now....

Lisa what a GREAT update on Matt! I am glad to hear he is adjusting to school and you too! Now as far as PTA, I always got involved with something every year! It will come to you! I was also what they use to call Room Mom, that is where you go in and help out the teacher with special event's.

Also make sure to sign up to help out on class trips, there are so many ways to stay involved, Matt will love having you there! Your a GREAT Mom, Matt is Blessed to have you, keep up the great work, after all he may just run our country one day!
