Can I make Rope Drop IF....

Even with an 8:30 ADR they are likely to seat you as soon as you arrive. They are not likely to have you step aside while they seat the 8:05s, then the 8:15s. They want your table turned over too. And it's not like you are waiting for an 8:05 to finish and leave.

Just get there as if you have an 8:05 and go from there. Ask for your check as soon as you are seated.

It's a great way to start a day in the MK.

I completely agree. Get there as if you have an 8:05 am and hope you'll get seated early. Also, ask for the check as soon as you sit down (just tell the server you are trying to get out by 9 am). Eat, pay, go. As long as you are seated by 8:30 am and don't dawdle over your food, I actually think this could work!

Unfortunately just because your ADR says 8:30 does not mean you will be seated by 8:30. Not sure how pre-opening ADRS are working currently but I know that we have had to wait 15 minutes or so to be seated for ADRs in the past, including last September. If you have to be somewhere by a certain time I would either get an earlier adr or cancel it

I say get there early and see if you can get in early. We are early risers and had a 9:00 at Tusker House a couple of years ago on a 9:00 opening. We were at the park at 8 and because they recommend 10 minutes plus early for ressies, we were allowed to go in early. When we got to Tusker House, we told them our name and reservation time, we were prepared to wait outside, but they said no they had a table and we could go on in.
We finished just as the masses were let in (our original reservation time). In fact we passed a family we had talked to in line that had a 9:10 reservation that they would not let in.

So if you get in early, you could certainly make it but I would not count on it.

Yay a little glimpse of hope is all I need. Im fine w preparing for the worst as long as I got a shot 4 the best

Yeah I am imagining people running to the buffet and shoveling food as fast as possible to get out by 9. I just don't think it is realistic. Keep checking for an earlier time though.

What is in Adventureland that you are rushing in for? I don't understand the difference between the unbearable wait for 30 minutes at rope drop as you described or the potential 30 minute wait on Crystal Palace porch if they don't seat you earlier than your ADR time. Isn't it 6 of one, half a dozen the other as they say?!

I have always had very good luck being seated right away when I check in as soon as they let folks in for early breakfast even with an 8:20/8:30 ADR. I had an 8:20 ADR on my birthday 5/6. When they let us in the the park early they checked to make sure we had an ADR but the list did not have times on the list. We were seated right away. We had a great breakfast I had a made to order omelet. We saw Pooh, Tigger & Piglet and were out by 8:50.

We did Peter Pan, Pooh, Teacups, Space (FP+), Buzz, TTA, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, HM (FP+), got Sorcerer cards, Train, walked around new Mine train taking photos, BTMRR (FP+), & shopping on Main St all before 12:30. We left the park just as it was getting busy.

Oh and FP+ selections were made that morning (before we got to the park) as we were having trouble linking our accounts.

This sounds great if we can get half that much done I will be very pleased!

I think I can comfortably keep this ADR and if I find an earlier one I will absolutely take it but I have a good feeling if I don't I will still be happy with this choice

If I had an ADR on the opening day of 7DMT I would be very tempted to use that to get in early and skip the meal and be the first ones at the fantasyland rope drop. :rotfl2:

I agree totally doable if you don't care about meeting any characters. Getting the cheque right away is the key. It never fails when I'm trying to get out of a restaurant that the billing and paying process ends up taking forever. So, getting that out of the way right at the start is best when you're short on time.

Yeah I think it can work and hopefully since it's 7DMT opening day lots of people decide to skip their ressies leaving room for us to eat earlier!
