We have an 8:30am ressie for CP would like to be outa there right before park open @ 9..... is it possible? !

I think you'd be hard pressed to get out in that short of time. We usually do 8:05 ADR and get out as people are walking in. We don't rush through breakfast, but we also don't sit around waiting for all the characters to circle either.

Unfortunately just because your ADR says 8:30 does not mean you will be seated by 8:30. Not sure how pre-opening ADRS are working currently but I know that we have had to wait 15 minutes or so to be seated for ADRs in the past, including last September. If you have to be somewhere by a certain time I would either get an earlier adr or cancel it

Hmmm that's disappointing. I have been looking for earlier times but had no luck yet

You'd have trouble making it by 9am even if you were picking something up at the counter service restaurant. It would take you ten minutes to walk to MK and even longer by monorail, since the monorail goes the long way around. Character breakfasts are usually very slow because of the time it takes for the characters to make their rounds. I think you would be lucky if you could get to MK by 9:45am with an 8:30 am ADR.

The OP has a Crystal Palace reservation, but they still wouldn't be out by 9.

They let you into the park ealier than your res, and they may indeed seat you ealier if there are no-shows. Since it is a buffet, you eat at whatever speed you want. However, it is rushed. If I were you, I'd keep the reservation if you don't care about character interaction, and then just see what happens, but it is an expensive way to get into the park early.

You do get to walk up main Main Street when it is deserted in broad daylight, which is a thrill....

If you eat fast and see no characters, maybe! But why bother if you have to race through the food and not see any characters. We eat fast but we are hard pressed to get out by 9am and we usually have an 8:05am ADR :) It all depends where you get seated in terms of how quickly you'll see the characters.

The ADR is in MK and we don't mind focusing on eating and missing the characters.

Just trying to decide if we should keep it or do rope drop and lunch instead. If we can still get 2 adventure land by 9:10 I think it would be totally worth it to see almost no one on main street and get a few photos on our way to breakfast

Here's my tthoughts...

DH will get grumpy fast standing outside waiting for rope drop for 30 mins! I was hoping to get in the park in the least stressful way possible, which will in turn make dad happy, while getting to the rides as close to 9am as possible making me and the kiddies happy. ...

I don't think this is realistic. As someone posted above, an 8:30 AM reservation does not mean that you will be seated at 8:30 AM. Sometimes people take longer than the restaurant anticipates and you will still have to wait. I'm not saying it can't happen, just saying that I've never seen it done.

IMO I think you should either keep trying to get the reservation pushed up to an earlier time, cancel it or don't worry about getting out of there a little later. Why pay a premium for a table service experience to rush it?

Worst comes to worst, I would show up early even with the 8:30 AM reservation because I have been seated much earlier than my ADR before. There's no guarantee, but it can happen.

This. We have done the pre park opening breakfast at CP numerous times and have only just made it for park opening with an 8.05 / 8.10 am reservation. I recently canceled our 8.05 reservation because we changed plans and decided we wanted to be in the park for rope drop, ready to go. It is fine if you just want early access to the park for photos or to enjoy the quieter Main Street, but if your motivation is to be ready to ride at 9 am when the park goes online, then it may be better to make it a last sitting reservation and do your rides first.

May I also add that we are going to MK on opening day of the mine train....

So I am expecting rope drop to be a little crazier than normal

If you don't mind eating the $10 per person charge, you could enter early for your ADR but then not actually check in at the podium, hang around the crowd by CP for a bit and then head into the park at opening, skipping breakfast altogether. I don't recommend this AT ALL, but I suppose you could do it.

Interesting idea.....

I dont think I could just throw away $40 like that!

Although some may think rushing through breakfast is wasting $100 lol

Im currently leaning toward keeping my ressie even if I dont make it out by 9:00. I think it will keep my morning stress levels down and still get me to btmr by 9:20
...

Even with an 8:30 ADR they are likely to seat you as soon as you arrive. They are not likely to have you step aside while they seat the 8:05s, then the 8:15s. They want your table turned over too. And it's not like you are waiting for an 8:05 to finish and leave.

Just get there as if you have an 8:05 and go from there. Ask for your check as soon as you are seated.

It's a great way to start a day in the MK.

This is what Im hoping. They should be able to seat us upon arrival.

How early can I enter the park?

Be at the gate no later than 7:30. They will probably let you in around 7:50 as part of a huge group heading in for pre-opening ADRs at CRT and CP and appointments at BBB.
