I use the TSA locks and have for several years. I put the TSA locks on our 3 bags to Disney in Nov and all 3 had been opened, searched and relocked. No damage was done to the locks. There was a sticker on my bags notifying me that they had been searched.
I don't actually lock them for security reasons because if someone wants in they are going to get in. I lock them on the off chance that they get stuck somewhere on their journey and the zipper comes undone. I saw it happen once about 5 years ago to some poor guy who had the contents of his suitcase spread over the luggage carousel in JFK. Poor guy! Ever since then I lock my suitcases.
