We are staying off property but have a breakfast reservation at Cape May...can I park car at Beach Club & leave it there and just walk to Epcot? This would be nice to not have to move the car!

Nope, sorry. You are able to park there only during your meal. If you don't want to move the car, park at Epcot and walk to BC.

only if you pay to valet park at Beach Club (which will cost you $15 to valet, plus a $2 tip when you come back to get your car.) Even though we have free theme park parking (because we stay at Disney resorts AND we also have annual passes) we still pay to valet park at deluxe resorts fairly often, because it IS very convenient when going to a park before or after the meal. There is no time limit if you pay to valet park (because you have paid to park...valet guys say it's good for 24 hours, then they'll hit your credit card for a 2nd day if you're still there.)

Otherwise, when you park at the deluxe resorts, they will allow 3 hour parking for restaurant reservations... so you might get towed if you left your car all day to go to Epcot. Wouldn't try it, especially if you're there during a busy time of year. We have seen tow trucks removing cars from The Polynesian, The Contemporary and the Beach Club, so it does happen--especially on the weekends/holidays.

you can park for 3 hrs when visiting and self parking. Valet is now 15 plus tip but you can stay as long as you want. not fair to paying guest at the resorts if their self parking gets hogged by non resort guests plus you are then getting parking for free when others that are non site guests pay to park at the parks.

it IS nice to be able to walk to epcot from those hotels and that is why I pay the money I pay to stay at them

We often valet our car there too when we go for a meal so that we can walk over to Epcot afterwards. It is nice not having to move the car but as others said, you have to use valet in order to keep your car there otherwise you are taking up the spots for those who paid to stay at Yacht & Beach Club.

Does this also mean that we can Valet in the morning at Beach Club --> take the boat over to DHS --> boat back at night --> for our dinner ADR at Cape May?

Would that even be worth it?

as long as you valet you are fine. I personally think it is worth it. Even though we have annuals and stay onsite which would give us free park parking, I rather have them take my car and not worry about trams, buses, parking etc. This is why we love staying at yc/bc and bwi. great resorts plus ease of getting to parks. The $15 Valet price is good for 24 hrs. So if you park at 8am you pay $15 and are good until the next 8am, you can also valet at one resort and use it for other resorts.

Thanks for the answers! I think it is worth it also to pay for the Valet and then walk to Epcot. I am all about saving time, and I would have to pay to park at Epcot so why not just pay the extra $3 to do valet. How far is the walk though?

Less than 5 minutes at a good pace. I love the walk. Have fun. Cape may is Yummy!

Thank you for posting this! I was just wondering about heading to Beaches & Cream for dinner, and then walking over to Epcot for another hour or so. We weren't planning on staying for Illuminations that night, so I wondered if it would be an option to leave our car for a couple of hours. Looks like the valet would make sense!

I have done this at Poly, Boardwalk, BC, and AKL and never had a problem. All of those times we had either dinner reservations at that hotel or were dropping the kids off for the kids' club for mommy and daddy date night. All of the times we were honest about why we were there and that we also wanted to check out the resorts while we were there. On the BW and BC visit we also walked to Epcot without a problem. We did not use valet and were never towed. I wouldn't hesitate to go this route again.

Just adding that if there's an event ongoing at Epcot (Food & Wine for example), it is common for them to restrict regular YC/BC parking to guests only. But you can usually still valet, even then.

You should hesitate. It is against the posted rules. Hotel parking lots are for guests of that hotel. The lots simply aren't large enough to accomodate theme park guests, they are not intended to be.
It is totally unfair to the registered guest of that hotel who is paying to stay there, to be unable to find a parking spot at the end of the day, because you have chosen to by pass the rules and park in the limited parking intended for guests of the hotel.
Can you get away with it - sometimes. Should you do it, Absolutely Not!!!!

You could park at DTD and take a bus to the beach club, then walk to Epcot or take the boat to DHS, then a bus back to DTD and check it out before heading back to your hotel. This way your not taking up parking or or having to pay for valet.

Agreed! I know the time we stayed at the Beach Club it was obvious that was what people were doing--the lot would be packed during the day, and half full after park closing. And when we stayed at the Contemporary we always had to park in the back end of the lot.:headache:

Disney should always give out 3 hour parking passes, and then tow tow tow. It wouldn't take long for people to figure out that paying a parking fee is much cheaper than pulling your car out of impound.

Another idea, a "resident parking area" that is blocked off with a gate that requires your room key.

Do you also use the handicapped spots at the malls because it is more convenient for you?

The buses to/from DTD are notoriously slow. Going this route would eat up at least 3 hours of valuable vacation time.

For me, $15 for the valet parking would be more than worth it.

You are taking up parking...for the people that wish to visit DTD. There's a reason why they discontinued direct bus service to the parks from DTD.
