7 weeks ago today I started atkins and i've been completely cheat free!!! My name is Melissa and I am 26 years old. I have 2 dd's, Julia is 2 and Hannah is 4. I was a skinny skinny child up until 12 years old. Then I was average sized up until I graduated high school. From there things went downhill. So now, 9 years and 2 kids later, I found myself to be 100lbs over weight. I was skeptical of atkins but after trying all sorts of diets and just not caring, when my hubby started atkins and lost 10lbs in 2 weeks, I had to try it.
I am a very picky eater, but I do like meat. I can't eat cheese and not a greens person although I try to have green beans at every dinner. I drink water and diet rite. I snack on nuts and pork rinds and I have been able to tolerate some of the sugar free low carb chocolates and such without stalling. In fact, in 7 weeks, I have lost 45lbs. The first week alone, I lost 12lbs. Then 10 more the next week and then 10 the next week. On week 4 I slowed down but am still actually loosing at a more then average rate. I am losing on average 6lbs a week, last week being 5lbs. I would love to continue losing 5lbs a week but know that's not realisitic.
I still have another 55lbs to lose, but would love eventually to lose another 15lbs after that. I can definately see a change in myself with 45lbs gone and I feel great. For the first time since high school, I CARE about how I look. I've bought a few new clothes and cute capris. I had to replace my daily mommy denim shorts uniform with new ones 2 sizes smaller because my old ones were falling down....hee hee.
Last week, my sister and I took a trip to Orlando (no disney parks) but went to Sea World, chef mickey and medival times and I was suprised how pretty easy it was to eat well and I didn't cheat once. We are headed for a family trip to Disney at the end of the month and hubby and I plan to eat well again without cheating. I've found the low carb granola to be an excellent breakfast on the go. Pork grinds and nuts keep me going through the day and I actually carry with me, low carb bread. So when I buy a burger or hot dog, I replace the bun with the low carb bread.
So now i've introduced myself, I hope to find some valuable information and make some fellow low carb diet friends.
