Can I hope for a Virgin Sale for December?

Last year we managed to purchase Virgin flights in July for a 15 night trip in the end of Nov. and the total came to 596 pounds for two adults . Am I crazy to think those prices might come around again? Right now it's almost that just for one person! We would really like to go in December again, it was so nice last year with all the Christmas decorations plus the weather I thought was just perfect!

You may all remember the free dining promo and I booked online for this coming September but never got flights and it looks like we will have to cancel it soon but I won't be devastated if we can swing a trip in December instead. Even if we have to pay for our own food  .

Looking at our flight on Dec 1st, its not at all full, so I would imagine that there will be sales.

I'm hoping too! :wizard:

I have been amazed at the difference in price for flights this November/December compared to the same time last year (not just with Virgin - I've been checking lots of scheduled and charters). I was hoping Nov/Dec prices would be on a par with Feb/March, but no luck so far.

Thanks now I'm excited, haha! Obi Wan you know last year when we went I remember now the flight was quite empty actually! People quickly claimed rows of 4 to themselves but it was just me and Kev and I'd booked us those two seats way in back by themselves so we didn't bother. No wonder the flights were less back then.
Hilary I'll hope for the both of us because if those prices come down that would be brilliant :cloud9:. Have you booked the hotel yet or are you still on the fence? We haven't booked yet and our dining reservation window if we get to go opens at the end of this month :faint: .

Obi Wan the cute (and lucky!) child in your sig, is he yours? So true, to fly like that, I bet it's addicting!

yes, that's my Little 'un. :thumbsup2
He is a lucky young five year old, has only known this and the old UC seats as the way to fly "the big red plane" to the uSA. He has decided that 6A is his seat and he "loans" it out to others when he is not flying! :rotfl:

I have kept a record of his flights and he is already flown over 100,000 miles!

Aww well if he ever wants to loan seat 6A to me I wouldn't say no ;) !

Love the seats Obi. If only dh would book upper class. I am trying to persuade dh to book upper class for my 30th when we go to NYC in 2009. Not too far away. Enough time for him to start saving :rotfl:

They are superb I have to say. The picture is of the seat in "seat" mode not bed mode.
I was happier when the little ottoman would move, as the bed is just slightly too small at 6 feet and my feet hang on the top :rotfl: :rotfl:

Some people prefer the BA beds, as they think they are softer, but there have also been comments that the New "New club World" seats are not as sturdy as the old ones.

There is a certain decadence in taking off with your seat reclined I must say!

When i do a trip report I will put in some pictures of the "food" and cabin. The problem ius that after a couple of hours in the Clubhouse, the cabin pictures are, well, "out of focus" (they look fine to my sozzled brain!) :rotfl: :rotfl:

No, we haven't booked anything yet. I always book the flights first, as I know we'll find somewhere to stay, so we get the flights that suit us best and work the accommodation around them. Now our DDs are older, it's just me and DH, and we will probably spend only a few days in Orlando (and not necessarily visiting the parks at all  ;) ), and the rest of our time exploring other parts of Florida :sunny:

I hope you manage to get the flights you want and all your dining reservations!

Virgin Holidays are advertising 7 nights from 05 Nov to 10 Dec from £399 in their May sale, staying at Howard Johnson.

Sale ends tomorrow! Tempting - even if you don't use the accommodation (or not for the whole time) it's cheaper than a flight only or fly-drive at the moment ;)
