Can I have two rooms at a time?

I have some points in holding and going on a Father/Daughter trip in August. We have a combo DVC pts/RCI exchange at BCV. I'm thinking to use those holding points of getting a studio for one night at one of the other resorts to use them and not have them go to waste. I want to keep both rooms on that date as I don't want to move etc just basically check in enjoy resort check out next day then head back to our main room.

Has anyone done this? Will they let me have two rooms like this? I know I can have multiple rooms but that has been with different guest names, will they do it for the same person?

I hope this makes sense.

I know you cannot book more than one room at DVC resorts under the same name for the same day, you would just need to put one of the rooms in a different name.

But if I put it in say my wifes name and she doesn't show will they let me check in? It is just my daughter and I this trip. For the day I'm looking at our ressie will actually be on the RCI exchange ressie not on my DVC membership.

No. Only those listed on the reservation would be able to check-in.

If both husband and wife are on the reservation with the wife as lead, won't they still allow him to check in? During our Feb. trip we booked one night at AKL concierge to do a safari but we kept our BWV room so we wouldn't have to move in and out. One room had me as lead, the other had DH as lead and we had no problem. But I can't remember which of us actually checked in at each place.

I'm pretty sure that our last reservation was in my DH's name and I checked in. So I don't think it matters.

However the OP's question was how to access two rooms on the same night for her/him-self. I'd be tempted to add a night before or after my other reservation as it doesn't sound like the reservations on the same night will work.

We had a reservation in May where I was the main name on the reservation, but my husband and parents were also listed. I used online check-in and my parents picked up the folder in the lobby with no problems. I, personally didn't step foot in the lobby until we checked our airline luggage for the trip home.

If they'll let you be a secondary on the extra reservation, it might work.

Being it will be a RCI and a DVC pt ressie, will they even be able to tie the two names together if I don't tell them. I will have my wife on the ressie so we will see what happens.

I guess worse thing is when I check in they say no?

I really don't think there will be a problem. We used both our BWV room and our AKV room on the same day but MS made one of us the lead on one reservation and the other lead on the other reservation. Good luck!

Well I just booked 2 nights at AKV for a studio - got a savanah room. Never stayed there so that could be cool as I would lose the points if I don't stay there. Won't be an intense park trip anyway so a cool way to visit a resort that is on my "only if every other resort is booked" list - opportunity to change my mind about it. I'm sure my daughter will love the animals and I have heard good things about the pool.

I put my wife in the "1st position" of the ressie and will just do the online check in. What are they going to do not give me the room? At least I will have my BCV room

Thanks for the input as I wasn't sure if I could do this or not.

Great! If you think of it, post back to let us know how it went when the time comes. Have magical trip.

Ok here is the update, changed ressie to BLT as my daughter claims it is her favorite. I timed to tonights late night EMH at MK so we can walk back. I checked in at 10:15 (used online check in before we left) and not only didn't I have any problems the room was ready:woohoo:

I put the RCI BCV in my name wife #2 and the DVC BLT ressie in my wifes and l was listed as # 2. They did ask if ressie is for my wife and I said yes and they checked me in.

I do have to say the contemp check in area is a zoo, wish BLT had its own check in area.
