Hey all!

So....I know a lot of brides (both Disney and otherwise) do candy type items for their favors.

I don't really want to do candy to be honest...and so far the only ideas I see that I like are the bookmarks and the Wish Upon A Star bottle thingys....

Are there any other Disney theme ideas for favors that I'm not thinking of? I know Carrie did ears and a couple of brides have done those Lenox Mickey Head Ornaments, but I don't think those would work for us...

Just wondering if you all can help with a bit of brainstorming?

Thanks!

Lori

I've seen Mickey Mouse and Cinderella's Castle shaped soaps on ebay. Also different Cinderella kind of candles.

How about something that's actually useful or has a life beyond the wedding, like five Disney Dollars or a donation to charity?

Or, going completely the opposite direction, what about glow necklaces/spinners/etc. for use at the dessert party that night? I'd never buy one of these myself, but you can bet I'd be excited to wear it in the parks some night if someone gave me one! :cutie:

We are going to do Cinderella themed photo holders.

A CD with songs played at your wedding, a votive candle wrapped all pretty, a mini frame that matches your theme, etc.

I went to a wedding recently and they gave out a glass coaster with an engagement photo of them in it. It was beautiful!

I myself am stuck on favors. :confused3

For our dessert party we are doing crystal pens with a "wishes do come true" tag.

They aren't very expensive, so I'm not sure if you would want to do them.

Another option is candy in one of these little placecard holder chairs (I've decorated ours with a pink crystal and filled the chair with mickey mints and tied a wide silver bow from the bottom up to the top of the "seat" of the chair).

Another option is these votive holders that we are using for table decor at our dessert party. It's cute because it's a placecard holder and then a cute votive/tealight holder afterwards.

I hope that helps spark some ideas, Lori! :goodvibes

I like the candle idea or you could have small picture frame with a photo of the two of you..... princess:

We are using...

they are candles and say Happily ever after on the tag and will have our names and date on the back!

We are giving everyone personalized mugs along with Mickey Coffee or Hot Cocoa. We are getting the mugs done at Cafepress which will have a picture that my DF is drawing whenever he stops being a slacker. :lmao:

I picked up the Mickey coffee and cocoa at DTD when I went for my planning session.

Here is a picture, WITHOUT the personalized mug. Just a mug I stole from my mom.

THAT is an awesome idea! :worship:

Mind if I "steal" it to add to my possible favors list? What shop did you get your hot cocoa and coffee at? How much were they?

we are using these...they were inexpensive and the quality is great! We are putting candy in them but I am sure you could find something else :)

I'm not doing this for my favors but you could. I bought smallish sized silver baggies and put in some bath salts, a pretty candle and some personlized matches. I'm going to suggest they light the candle and take a long hot bath after a day at the parks.

I did the CD with our chosen music, personalized M&M's with our theme on them, Peace, Love and Mickey Mouse and our big favor was the caricatures of everyone that the artist at our reception did! :goodvibes

That said, it might be cool to do something inspired by Africa (a la Jiko's wine room) or something Moroccan inspired. I wanted to do a crystal favor since we re-married in Italy but the one we chose was not available for order at the time...:sad1:

I did a search and found that Cowrie shells have meaning in Africa:

Cowrie Shells
Cowrie shells, indigenous to West Africa represent fertility and prosperity. Cowrie shells are a significant favorite used in bridal attire. Use of the shell design in favors, food serving, cakes and decoration or table centerpieces express the tradition.

I also found Moroccan tealight candle favors and also a gorgeous colored glass Moroccan Candle Lantern which could work if you did not need too many :flower3:

At berbertrading.com, I even found an Aladdin's Magic Lamp for $9.00 :wizard: :lovestruc I think that could be really cool!!!

Since our theme is Wish Upon A Star, we were going to go with the votive in the silver holder with stars on it that Keenercam shows.

But, our budget being so tight, we have decided instead to make our own. I may buy a box of white votives in holders, or buy a purple votive and put it in a glass holder. Then I will glue a sparkly silver star to the glass holder. Our colors are purple and silver so I am leaning towards purple votives, and I think the silver star with a purple candle will look nicer than a silver star with a white candle.

Since we are having an Escape wedding, I am doing without place cards.

I have also heard of others giving a lottery ticket in a glassine envelope.

These are some EXCELLENT ideas everyone!!! :cool1: Thanks!!

Cam-
Did you ever find the info about those tags I pm'd you about?

Lisa-
I PM'd you too...

You guys are very creative in your thinking!!

So many great ideas. My favors were flip flops for my wedding.

Steal away!! LOL. I found them in the World of Disney store in DTD but I also saw them at the resorts gift shops and the kitchen store next to the Earl of Sandwich. I believe a pack of 12 coffees which come in all different flavors was about $25.00 and the cocoa was a pack of 8 i think for about $20.00. I bought 2 packs of each.

I can't wait to get the actual mugs! I will post them in my PJ when I do.

we did bottles of wine. i loved them!

These are brilliant! May I ask where you found them? Did you do the artwork yourself? If so, is there anyway that I could get you to email it to me?

Cinderella's castle is the main theme of our wedding . . .

i got the bottles at murielle winery in clearwater florida. they have a wedding special and several different types of wine to choose from.

here is the graphic that i provided them with:
