Ok guys I promise ill only do this once but if i dont let this out im afraid im going to burst :scared:

I took my ds (7) to a hospital appointment yesterday he has eye cancer and had his eye removed a spart of the treatment and needed a new eye the nearest place that can do this for children is a 2 hr drive - that didnt bother me as we have been before and I knew it was going to be horrendous.
Well it took us nearly 3 hours because of roadworks on the motorway and I was a little stressed as ds had been sick by the time we got there :crazy2:

We were kept waiting for ages and then when we did go in she looked at him and said he was too uill for her to mess with him and she will schedule us back in for another appointment on weds !! *** he will look the same then if we get stuck in traffic :rolleyes2

Im so mad and exhausted mentally and physically I just cant face the journey again next week . I dont really want to moan to friends and family *** thats all i seem to do at the moment. Can i have some pixie dust pixiedust: and a slap so I can pull myself together

Thanks guys Louise x

Aww i feel for you Louise, you sound like you need a touch of ... pixiedust: pixiedust:

Motherhood can be exhausting at the best of times let alone what you and your family are going through at the moment.

I hope your little one gets the treatment he needs and sooner rather than later.

Take care :)

Of course you can moan, Louise!   Please vent as much as you like - it can only help...

Sounds like you and your son have been through such a lot, hon and I'm sending you tons of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: that the journey on Wednesday is better and you both arrive in good shape... :grouphug:

oh no :grouphug: i can see why you need to have a moan, i hope the appt goes better next week. just leave in plenty of time and try not to get too stressed about it x x

Hi Louise :grouphug:

I'm sure no one will mind if you let off some steam here, a lot of us have done so in the past and it does help :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry to hear your poor son has been ill and i wish him a speedy recovery so heres some pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: For him and some hugs for you       Sounds like you need them! :grouphug: xXx

Oh what a nightmare. You poor thing it's no wonder you are stressed. I hope everything goes well on Wednesday. Rant away to us as much as you like....:grouphug:

Would it help if you got there an hour earlier than you appointment time so your son can sit down & have a drink/time to recover from the journey before your appointment? I don't know any car sickness remedies but wish you luck & lots of pixie dust. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Just sending you a :grouphug: and some pixiedust:

I can understand your exhaustion and frustration. I hope that next Wednesday provides a less stressful and more productive trip :)

Thanks again guys for allowing me to vent !!

:grouphug: Sending you lots of hugs Louise pixiedust: and I hope that the journey is a lot less stressful next week

pixiedust: pixiedust: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Vent away as much as you like and can understand your frustration it is only natural. It will all get sorted out.

sending you a :grouphug: and pixiedust: pixiedust: hope everything goes to plan on wednesday xxx

That's dreadful. We've had to go from Burton to Birmingham Childrens Hospital for appointments and been kept waiting ages. They are very good now, but when he was very young the waiting time seemed forever. In October this year my DS is being handed over to adult care - where's my baby gone! We make a day of it now and go on the train, is that an option for you if your DS is not a good car passenger? I imagine the appointments are stressful enough without adding an horrendous car journey to the equation.

So sorry to hear about your son. :grouphug: and lots of pixiedust: coming your way. Hope it all goes ok on wednesday.

As others have said previously Louise, moan away.

Hope it all goes well on Wednesday:grouphug:

That's terrible - she should have offered to see you a couple of hours later when he had chance to get over his travel sickness.

Have you tried joy rider travel sickness pills - these really help my girls.

Good luck for your next visit - I hope it's more sucessful. :grouphug:

Ive never tried any travel sickness pills or remedies as he refuses to take anything ! my neighbour said it helps if he wears a sweatband so we will try that next time !! I did phone the childrns hospital yesterdy and explained how bad the appointment was - as well as chasing our fit to fly form - and she said that on weds we can go there instead and the artificial eye woman will have to come to us ! RESULT !!! Im now feeling a load better about weds keep ur fingerd crossed for me that we also get our fit to fly certicate then we can start to get properly excited - we are actually most of the way there then !!!
Thanks again guys for listening !!
