Can I get some help please?

Michael's should have wedding invitation kits that you can stamp and/or just put together after running through the computer.

I agree. It looks like a wedding dress, but not too formal, and would look good on all shapes and sizes. It's also a GREAT price.

The flowered and last dress are so pretty. I'm going to catch the bus in 20 minutes to go downtown to Michael's and check out my favorite shop for clothing. Though, I really love that flowered dress.

I'll have to check the web sites later.

Thank you all so much. I'm so happy I could explode. I get a job and start planning my wedding all in the same week. :)

CONGRATS on both things totalia!!! I am so happy for you!!! I love the last dress that was posted. It looks like a wedding dress but not too fancy. When dh and I first got married we were doing it on a very strict budget because we were paying for it. I got my dress at a small shop. It was a GunnySack long gown. It was beautiful and not really expensive. I did get a regular wedding dress when dh and I renewed our vows on our 20th two years ago.

Lord and Taylor has GREAT end of the season sales on dressy dresses. I just picked up one for $30.

Congratulations, totalia. I hope your wedding is a dream come true.

An earlier poster mentioned stamping - you could also try embossing, which is stamping with a special ink, sprinkling with embossing powder and applying heat - the design is then raised. Embossing powder comes in lots of colors, including metallics - we used it for DD's shower favor tags and for the rehearsal dinner invitations with Cinderella themed stamps.

Also, if your invitations are card stock, try punching two holes near the top, threading in some simple white/ivory/whatever satin/organza ribbon and tying a bow - the invitations I have seen in books that have the bows on them are outrageous, but you could do this really inexpensively.

Good Luck!!!!

I have had good luck with dresses in Chadwicks, Jessica London, Lane Bryant, Roamans. Coldwater Creek also, although they can be expensive, but check their sale area.

I like the idea of the invite with the bow tied through the top...simple yet elegant, and probably pretty cost-effective based on the small # of invites you'd be doing.

I did my wedding really traditionally, but if we were ever to renew our vows, I'd love to use some of these ideas.

Depending on your size, check the final sale dresses on JCrew.com I found one in a large that is great for 70, and all the final sale stuff is an additional 40% off, so you may be able to find something great there for a great price!

I think I see the dress that WDWAurora is referring to - "solid stretch pique shift dress." It is in a size 12, which you are looking for. It is lovely!!!

:) Thanks ladies.

I'm going to spend the next while looking at those web sites lol.

I just got home from checking some things out. I went to our local 5 star hotel to ask about costs. I found the PERFECT place to have the ceremony. It's only $60 and seats about 20 people. Its the balcony above the cafe. The hotel has a HUGE indoor garden. Its wonderfully warm inside. The balcony is right above it and when you look out over it, you see this sea of greenery and part of the pool a ways away.

Its perfect for what we want. Rich (my fiance) loves the idea. So now all we have to do is set a date and then tell the hotel. Which, he and I are talking about right now.

The annoying thing is that it seems like no place in the city has anything remotely suitable to wear for a dress. Not even Sears. Not even in the Catelog. So, internet it has to be.

Apparently I have bad timing though. I went into Michael's and they were pulling out all their stamps and stuff. One of the staff told me they have a whole bunch of new ones coming in so to come back later in the week.

I'm having so much fun with this lol. And you know, part of the fun is that this is so simple. Its not a huge party. Just easy. So much more relaxed. I don't need alot of decorations. I don't need a cake or a DJ. All of that is just more money. What I want is to just get married and then have a small get together with the people that are really the most important to both of us.

Ohhh. I see that one on J Crew too. Oh thats so pretty. The problem I have is my left leg is fairly scarred from my car accident. But oh, I wonder if I could wear dark nylons that would hide the scars.

Oo, and I found one I adore on Lew Magram. Totally lacey and romantic. But its a hundred dollars. Almost worth it though. So pretty.

There is one dress that I really want. I can't remember who its by. But its really expensive. Around $450.

That one is really tempting. It would be almost perfect. *again debates spending more*

You know, when I don't want those types of dresses, I can find them everywhere. Then, when I actually am looking for them, they are nowhere to be seen. lol

This is the one from ebay that I really want. The problem is that I have no way to pay her because I don't have a credit card, western union (closest is a 5 hour drive away. Not a chance in hell), or Paypal (they want me to have a credit card). What is Bidbay anyway? lol

The lace dress and the bottom ones are very pretty. If you buy the one on Ebay, can't you send her a money order?

Some nice dresses!! What fun to get to pick! Good luck, Totalia. :)

Yes, have you contacted the seller to ask that question?

It says in the dress link that she won't accept it. Most sellers will accept a money order but maybe I should ask. The dress is so pretty. Very simple but it suits the simplicity I'm going for.

There are like.. 4 Jessica Mclintock dresses I want too. But they are very expensive. I found one of the dresses on ebay for $65 but she says she doesn't deliver international.

Uggg. I've never had this kind of problem with ebay before. Its always been easy to get things.

It doesnt hurt to email the seller & ask... I usually post US only auctions too but occasionally I'll sell to Canada if the buyer emails me first & has good feedback!

It never hurts to ask! Meanwhile, I really, really like that last Newport News dress - but I've got no place to wear these fancy dresses.

Good luck to you! This may end up being the wedding of your dreams.

I may be thinking of someone else, but didn't you mention that your DFi lives in the US? Maybe you can get it shipped to his address? Again, I may have you confused with someone else.
