Can I get dropped off and picked up at the parks?

For some days of our trip, only some of our group will head to the parks. We're staying off site, so I was wondering if we could get dropped off at the parks so those who don't go to the parks will be able to keep the car and pick us up when we call. Is this possible? If so, do we have to pay for parking to get into the lots? :moped:

Thanks!

I'm sure you can. Most parks have designated drop off areas. I dropped off a few members of our group at TL and BB last year without paying to park.

TL and BB don't have paid parking areas so it's easy to drop off people. However, the other parks, it's a lot trickier. Last week, I was able to pick family members up at Epcot without having to pay to park, however, that was during a horrid thunderstorm. I told the person at the pay booth that I was just picking up and he waved me through. I don't see how you can drop people off/pick them up without having to pay to park because the pay booths are right before you get into the parking lots.

If it turns out you can't drop people off right at the park, you could drop people off at a resort and they can catch a bus, monorail, boat, whatever to the park of their choice from there. That won't cost you anything. The best resort to do this at would probably be the Poly.

At Epcot and MK you can get dropped off at a resort, and just ride the ferry (MK) or walk from the Beach Club or Boardwald (Epcot). As for the other parks, I don't know how you just get dropped off.

For Epcot and MGM, you can go to the Board Walk and walk to either park. For MK, you could go to the Contemporary and walk from there. Not sure if you would have to pay at the toll barrier to get to the resort, though.

For AK, you could drop off at the AKL and take the bus over.

Worst comes to worst, you could always go to Downtown Disney and take the busses from there to a resort and transfer to the parks. This may benefit you more at night since the busses do not run directly from the parks to DTD so you would have to transfer at a resort. Plus, the busses do not run early in the AM so you would not get to the park until after 11.

I always get dropped off at all 4 parks with no problem....for MGM, Epcot, and AK, you follow the handicapped blue line on the road, and drop off at the front of the parking lot. If a cast member stops you (this mostly happens at AK), just tell them you are dropping off. For the MK, either I have someone drop me off on the street by the Contemporary, so I can just walk in, or there is a drop off for the TTC - go thru the MK gates, stay in the far right lane (towards the MK resorts), turn left at the first stop light, and you can either drop off at the kennel or the small TTC parking lot where the cabs go.
I don't know if you have to pay for parking or not to drop off. I have a PAP, so parking is included. Hope this helps!

my vote would be the nearest resort option.

you can get into the lot of any resort by telling them you are just coming to check out the resort. they will give you a two hour parking pass. your "driver" can drop you at the closest resort to whatever park you want to hit and then pick you up there at a specified time or when you call them.

they can get into the lot again by saying the same as above. (also saying you are going to the resort to shop/eat/visit a friend will get you that same parking pass.)

here is where i would go:

for MK i would get dropped at any of the monorail resorts.

for MGM and Epcot i would get dropped at the boardwalk. you can walk or take a boat to either park from there.

for AK i would do as the above poster mentioned and get dropped at AKL.

good luck
