We are leaving Friday for our first official trip as members. :yay:
I still have 4 day no-expire park hoppers left over from our visit in October that will get us through this trip.
I was going to buy our APs when we go back in September.
Can I purchase just the DDP for our stay next week?
What is the DDE and is that a good deal?
FYI: We like to eat out. We will probably just make a quick breakfast in our room like english muffins and cereal but other than that, we will eat out for most meals (Boma, here I come!)

Thanks everyone!:goodvibes

You can get the DDP, but you need to call Member Services now and have it added to your reservation, you can not add it at check-in.

The DDE is a discount card for 20% off at table service and buffet locations, counter service at value resorts and Animal Kingdom. It is also good on "adult" beverages. Cost is $60 per year, one card if good for up to 10 people, but they must dine together and be on the same ticket. The DDE is only available to Annual Passholders or to people who live in Florida.

can one use the one sit down meal anytime day or night?

Yes, for instance, for a 3 night stay, you would get 3 table service, 3 snacks and 3 counter credits per person. You can use those credits anytme from the time you check-in to midnight of your check-out day.

Thank you Chuck S for the quick reply, I'm such a dumb newbie on this stuff, and I have found most people on this site very nice.

Thanks again.....:goodvibes

Do you already have ADRs set up for your stay? If you don't, you might have a hard time getting the reservations for dining that you will need.

Thanks for that info! I have all my ADRs set up but after more research, I don't know if DDP is worth it for us this year. We were on DDP last October when we could still get appetizers and gratuity was included.
We ate a lot of our meals as buffets, so we didn't really have to get appetizers most of our trip last time. It's the fact that gratuity is no longer included that is swaying me against DDP this time.
At least I know as DVC members we can still get DDP.
I will try DDE though when we return this October and I buy our APs.

me, too. Not including gratuity takes out the whole luxury, "I'm being treated by Mickey" feeling, that I used to have on the DDP.
Since we already have an AP and do enjoy character buffet's we will probably use the DDE and mostly eat late breakfast buttets for sit down and give Mickey less total food $ this next trip.

I sort of understand the loss of appetizer, most were intended to be shared among the table. (side salad or soup should then be included with the entree, though)
