Does anyone know? We would be willing to pay. If we did have to pay would it be a whole night stay?

Thanks

I'd think it would be the whole night. You would be keeping someone else out of the room for the night.

The latest checkout we have ever been able to get has been 1:00 PM without paying. I believe if you want past that they probably would charge for an extra nights stay. Most of the housekeepers who clean the rooms leave around 4:00. All of the room cleaning carts usually disappear around 4:00 as well except in club level when they come back around at night.

We have tried to get a late check out many, many times. The first few times we tried, it was pretty successfull. But they really only give you an extra hour.

The past few times we have tried, they have told us no. They say they only allow so many late check outs per day and when they are gone, they are gone. We have tried calling the night before and they say you have to call in the morning. Usually the reason we are asking for late checkout is so we can sleep in, so we don't really want to get up at 5am or 6am to get a late checkout. But people must be doing it, since we can't seem to get it lately.

Two ways to go about it. Ask for a late check (1PM) is the latest time they can give you. Or pay for another night. We did this way back when rooms wasn't that costly & we didn't have to move rooms. Worked out perfectly. We normally leave now around 6:45PM so we always get a late check out at 1PM but hardly ever go past 12 noon. Nice to have that extra hour. Then we hit a cost by park & head back to the resort to be pick up. Hope this helps :)

Personally, I would pay for the extra night if you are leaving that late. I don't think the extra check out they might be able to give you would really be enough to make a difference.

We are doing this in February. We booked the extra night because our flight is not until 7:00 pm and therefore, don't want to have nowhere to stay for hours on end.

We have got a late check out a few times. Either noon or 1pm. BUT every time we got a knock on the door and the mousekeeper asked us if we were checking out that day. There doesn't seem to be any communication between the front desk and mousekeeping. Not a big deal but............

I used to work for a luxury hotel chain (not WDW) and it would depend on the occupancy rate for the night you are supposed to check out. If the hotel is not near sold out status, we could give someone a courtesy late check out of an hour or two at our discretion. Anything after that we'd charge $25/hour up to 4pm, at which time we'd charge them for another night. There were also day rates available for people arriving early in the morning and just wanted a room for the day until about 5 or 6pm (we used to have a lot of music groups/celebs stay there, and they would utilize the rooms for showers on days off, etc). However, if the hotel was scheduled to be sold out or near capacity, we would rarely allow anyone a late check-out without imposing the $25/hour fee until 4pm.

It's actually not necessary to get a late check out just because you have a late flight. You can either use Resort Airline Check-In (RAC) to check in for your flight in the morning, which will send your luggage to the airport or you can just leave your luggage with Bell Services and then check out (or of course you could check out first), and then head out to a park and enjoy one last day at Disney.

This! We always have a later flight (not 9:00, but late) and we just check out and hit a park for the day.

As others have said, whether or not you get late check out depends on the occupancy level of the resort. Some people have reported they had to check with housekeeping, but we asked at the front desk (WL) and they granted ours....so I would ask at the front desk and see what they tell you. To keep the room until 1:00 p.m. is no charge; until 3:00 p.m. is 1/2 night's room rate; and after 3:00 p.m. is a full night's room charge.

Thank you everyone. I think I am just going to call Disney. We have 3 little ones and to try and do commando all day would be crazy:scared1:

I shutter to think how this 9:30 flight home will be like!

Thank you

Just remember with a 9:30 flight you will need to leave for the airport around 6:30. If you are taking DME you will be picked up about 6:30 and will need to be at the bus stop by 6:15. Being roomless from 1:00 to 6:15 isn't so bad especially if you eat an early sit down dinner which you can stretch for 90-120 minutes or so. :)

now i have the opposing question....what about a late check in? driving and will be arriving somewhere between 11pm and 1am, anyone know disneys policy on that?

Yes. You have to purchase a nights hotel for that. Check-in begins at 6:30 or 7:00 am when the computers switch over, although rooms are usually not ready that early. If you want a room between 11 pm and 1 am you have to purchase a nights stay for that night.

But that is assuming they will be allowed to stay until 1:00 pm. Since that wouldn't be known until the day of check out (maybe the day before), it could be from 11:00 to 6:15 ish. And, with 3 kids, I think I would definitely pay to keep the room.

If you are staying in a DVC resort, you cannot get a late check out. You would have to reserve another night.

Me too! That's a long time to be homeless. I'd pay the extra night and sleep in which I know may be difficult with 3 children, take you time packing, relax, grab lunch, maybe have some pool time....
