Thanks everyone. Mum has just phoned and she is a bit brighter. My Granda has an infection so the doctor has just left. I have said to my mum it is time to accept some help so we will get back in touch with the Mcmillan Nurses today.

It is much appreciated to come on here and spill my guts about things. It is a great support.Thanks again.

Jackie - I think I can understand how you're feeling. My Grandparents lived into their nineties and then died within a couple of months of one another. Up until the last few years of their lives they were living together in their home, but then had to move - first into a care home and then into a nursing home. I adored them both. Growing up they were second parents to me and my brother (my Mum was an only child). Throughout those last few years when they weren't able to look after themselves, I went through the grieving process - it was as if we'd lost them already. I console myself with the thought that they had full and happy lives and we managed to keep them together. I agree that your Gran and Granda should be together today. My heart's breaking for you (and them). Loads and loads of hugs.

Debs, that just sounds like my Gran and Granda. I just wish they could be together although with my Gran having dementia at least she is spared the pain of losing her beloved husband of 65 years. I just wish I could ease everyones pain
