Can I get a Birthday Cake placed in our room while we are at Breakfast?

My husbands birthday is 1/27/03. We will be going out for breakfast somewhere - probably Wispering Canyon. While we are there, I was wondering if I could have a Birthday Cake placed in our room? Anyone do this? Who would I contact about this - it would of course be a secret!

WL has a 'newspaper' with info on the resort that you're given on check-in. Last May, I believe it had info on ordering cakes, and I think it requested that you order it in advance -- perhaps a day. (So, if his b'day is at the beginning of your stay, you might want to contact WL dining ahead of time.)

We've been there several times to celebrate my husband's b'day, and twice we've found a complimentary cake in the room, a few hours after arrival. Both times, we mentioned the occasion when we checked in. Of course, if you want to guarantee a cake, you need to order it. The cake we got was very small (~ 5-6"), but sinfully, decadently, rich chocolate and the two of us got many pieces from it. If that's one of your choices, don't be disappointed when you see how small it is.

I mentioned my daughters’ birthday when I made our reservation at the Poly last year and again the night before her birthday at the front desk. When I went to the front desk the CM called room service while I stood there and made the arrangements. I thought I might get a bill but never did. On the day of her birthday we went to O’Hana for breakfast and when we returned there was a Mickey cake (on a silver platter with place settings) and balloons waiting for her in the room. Later that day a signed picture of Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy was left in our room for her. Really was quite special! Again, never saw a bill for any of it!

I think if you tell someone when you are checking n thy will have a cake in your room on the day you would like it. We have celebrated 3 of 4 birthdays in DW but always at the Poly. They have comped us a cake and ballons each time. I haave heard that others at different resorts have had to request and then have been charged for the same cake and balloons. Have a nice trip and I hope tha you get the surprise cake.

They were $30 - $40 at the GF. I just ordered one for DW in Dec or her b-day.
