One cast member had the ENTIRE LINE at Autopia sing happy birthday two separate times to two little boys who were wearing birthday buttons. (And if you've ever waited in that queue, you know it's a long one, so imagine 200+ people singing Happy Birthday to you). It was a lot of fun and the smile on their faces made it worth it! I say if it's a trip to celebrate her birthday, then why not?
That is Disney magic! Love it!
We planned our first trip ever to DL for April, which would have coincided with my younger son's 2nd birthday. We had to cancel that trip 2 days before we were to leave because my DH was hospitalized.
Fortunately we were able to reschedule for the following September. I still wanted to acknowledge my DS's 2nd birthday, but that timeframe put us within a month of our older boy's 6th birthday, my DH's and my birthday, and our wedding anniversary as well.
So we got a birthday button for DS2 to wear one day, and another one for DS6 to wear another day. We let each child choose a character meal to attend on "their" day, and had a great time.
Somebody complained that it wasn't right to do the birthday pin/celebration if it wasn't
on your actual day, or within a few days, because now EVERYBODY is celebrating a birthday and it isn't special anymore.
I disagree. It
is still special, at the very least to those celebrating the event. Yeah, it's a little odd going to Goofy's Kitchen and having nearly every table celebrating something, but the same thing happens at home when we go to Red Robin. There just are THAT many people having birthdays, and going out for a special meal for it.
We are planning a trip to Maui for next fall to celebrate our 15th anniversary. We honeymooned there, and can't wait to go back!
Even though the trip will probably not coincide with the
exact date of our anniversary, the trip is in honor of it, so if asked, I am definitely going to mention it.
