Can I get a 1 night room only discount?

I have a 1 day room only at the Pop for 11/27 booked. I will be transferring to AKL the next day using the FD package. At the time I booked FD was not available for 11/27. We had planned on leaving 11/28 but airfares at the time were too much to leave on 11/28 and it ended up that I saved hundreds of $ by leaving one day early and staying at a value at rack rates. But now I just read that there is a new room only discount that can save me 25% for the 11/27 date. http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-resorts.htm#room
My questions are:
Is 11/27 really available? (It wasn't for so long with the other discounts)
If it is, can I use it for 1 day so I can transfer to AKL?
Also, how will it factor if I have already paid in full the room for that day?
Will Disney credit me but I will have to pay up front again, meaning I need that money when I ask for the discount?
Or will they credit me the dissference or let me put the difference toward my ballance at AKL?

YOu can book a 1 day with the room only discount. Price what you like on the WDW site to see what's available. Call WDW reservations and book the discounted room and cancel the one night at rack. Most likely they will refund the night you paid for and recharge for the one night. They will not mix the money with the AKL res.

I did this today. I booked a new one night reservation (at AKL on the 27th, in fact!) and paid for that night online. Then I called reservations and had them adjust the length of the existing reservation. I wasn't lucky enough to have that part of the trip paid in full, so in my case they didn't need to refund anything.

I was able to get the room only discount. I knew I could count on this board! I saved about $30 with the discount. Every little bit counts!
