Can I get 8 days dining plan if only 6 days park hopper tiks

If we stay 7 or 8 nights, can we get a 7 or 8 day of dining plan even though we will only want 5 or 6 days of Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper? We want some non theme park days or days to vist Universal, and plan on doubling up some meal tickets for charecter meals, etc. Thanks

The Dining Plan is based on the number of nights stayed. Your park tickets have nothing to do with it. The Dining Plan must be purchased as a pkg--paying rack rate for the room and at least a one day MYW ticket for everyone in the room. Of course you can purchase any length ticket you need. Everyone in the room must be on the plan and must purchase the same length MYW ticket. The only way not to pay rack rate is if you use AAA or if a code comes out that gives you a room discount and also allows you to purchase the DDP (I know there's one out for May that does).

For example I'm an AP holder who will be there for free dining in Sept. I had to pay rack rate for the room, bought a one day ticket for each of us, and will have free dining for the entire 9 nights we are there. Once we get down there my mom will upgrade her ticket at guest services to a either an AP or a ten day MYW ticket. I'll use my one day ticket at some later date to upgrade to another AP. Just remember the DDP is based on the number of nights you stay, not the number of days. If you're like us and arrive early in the morning and leave at night you may have to buy a couple of meals OOP.

its definatly possible don't forget to look at eating at some resort restaurants. no park tickets required for those !
