Can I freeze cheese?

Hi everyone! I usually hang out on the CB, but I have a food question and had to come to the experts!

Believe me, I know how silly this sounds, but long story short, I have about a pound of leftover shredded WalMart brand mozzarella cheese which I can't see myself using for a long time. Can it be frozen?

I feel like a doofus posting this, but I do thank you in advance for your advice.

Sure, I freeze mozzarella all the time.

yup you can freeze the cheese but make sure its sealed in a sealable gladbag
like glad sandwich bags with seals

that way the cheese will stay fresh as well

I know the original poster has shredded cheese, but I have frozen chunks of cheese. Just know that when you thaw it out, it will not cut into slices, but rather it will sort of crumble.

I actually buy frozen cheese slices from Schwann's....
